Remember that this wasn't some passive death, transphobes actively and knowingly agitated harm against them. This was a murder, not a suicide. They, an indigenous trans minor, died in the hospital after being assaulted in the bathroom by 6 transphobes.

According to their mother, 16-year-old Benedict had been bullied relentlessly for a year leading up to the incident, in which a group of peers ganged up on them and a trans student. It’s a horrific case and one that is inseparable from its context amid a climate of seemingly unceasing anti-LGBT demonization in the state and the nation.
Remember, an injury against one of us is an injury against all of us.

Yes, we do. The day following the sustainment of head injuries which resulted in the acute loss of consciousness (that is, the day after Nex sustained a severe brain injury) Nex was with their mother preparing to travel for an appointment when their eyes rolled back in their head, they collapsed and were struggling to breathe.
