Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

In this explosive geopolitical debate, international relations scholar John Mearsheimer and historian Vijay Prashad go head-to-head over the rise of China, the South China Sea tensions, and U.S. foreign policy in Asia.

🔴 Mearsheimer argues that as China rises to superpower status, it will inevitably seek hegemony in Asia — pushing the United States to contain Beijing and secure its dominance.

🔵 Vijay Prashad fires back, saying the U.S. has no legitimate role in the South China Sea or Asia’s regional disputes. Asian countries — whether it's India, Japan, or Taiwan — are capable of handling their own borders. The American military presence is fueling conflict, not peace.

👉 Prashad also flips the narrative: Shouldn’t the U.S. solve its own territorial issues — from tensions with Canada, ambitions in Greenland, to control of the Panama Canal?

📌 Topics Covered:

  • China’s rise and regional hegemony
  • U.S. military presence in Asia
  • South China Sea dispute
  • India-China, Japan-China, and Taiwan-China tensions
  • Critique of U.S. imperialism

Yes it’s Jubilee debate brained clickbait, but admittedly it is funny to watch JP get increasingly frustrated over nothing and his arguments spiral into meaninglessness
