Pixelfed

Pixelfed app gives an error about the server not being compatible. Web just returns a blank page. Anyone else? Same with other servers?

Hi folks,

It seems like my pixelfed.social account no longer exists (tried opening it in different browsers and the app.) Is there someone I can reach out to to try and get it back?

I can access the collections page but it just says "No collections found."

How do I make/add to collections?

I've started to get into Pixelfed these past 2 weeks but one thing I don't quite understand yet, is what content is getting federated and what isn't. Under "Discover" I can see some trending posts from other instances but most are from the one I'm on and most have barely any interactions in terms of comments etc. I'm a bit surprised, as it's supposedly bigger than Lemmy now but I can see much less content and interactions than on Lemmy. So am I actually getting all the content from instances my instance is federated with, or is it maybe just the specific accounts being followed by members of my instance? And are interactions like hearts getting federated or are they just local?

When i post a comment and someone like it. I get a notifications saying that someone liked my post and when click on it, it is just the comment i wrote. I have to always click view post to see the context of my comment

I made an account on gram.social where I want to share stuff from my band to divert some traffic off of Instagram.

Everytime when I try to post a picture through the pixelfed app ot shows up as "unlisted" and not "public" even if I flag it correctly in the posting menu.

Does my new account have to get verified or is there a setting I'm missing? The account is public and you can find stuff by searching, though I think my forst lost doesn't show up in feeds or hashtags or anything else.

Edit: So I opened Pixelfed on PC and got a notification that the first post needs to be approved by an human to appear as public from then on. The topic can be considered solved but I'll leave the post up for anyone being as confused as I was.

I’ve tried two emails to register on pixelfed.art. I picked this because it’s a smaller instance and I will generally be posting just art. Has anyone else had issues being accepted to a smaller instance? They seem to do it manually and it’s been two weeks.

[Update] If I write the exact name of the group (like [email protected]) it shows the page with the description, but still no posts.

I've also posted a picture in the group after following it, but it didn't show, except for the note about the last update

I haven't been able to get on for about 2 days. If it goes down permanently or if I want to switch instances, is that possible? I have like 100 pictures uploaded and I'm starting to get worried.

A couple of days ago i registered my moniker Sepix on Pixelfed.de with its own Mailadress. A short while after i noticed i could also log in through Mastodon which i prefer because i mostly post pictures through Mastodon anyways.

I have two accounts now, one by logging in directly into Pixelfed as @sepix and another through the Mastodon login as @[email protected] - BUT when i login through Mastodon now i end up in my @sepix profile and not in my @[email protected] profile.

I cleaned my cookies and tried logging into the site private mode but i always end up at the Pixelfed account no matter what. Searching for the accounts shows both of them, most of the content i posted is visible on the federated account timeline, the other timeline being empty.

What is going on? Shouldn't i be ablo to login the site with both?

Hello I am looking to self host my own pixelfed account just because I like self hosting and like sharing pics.

I saw there is a sign in with mastodon option on the pixelfed site and was curious if I host a mastodon instance instead, could I then use pixelfed with the same account?

I have a lemmy, mastodon, and pixelfed account right now and from doing a few experiments it seems mastodon has the best federation with both pixelfed and lemmy as far as commenting back and forth so it would be pretty neat to use a mastodon instance if that is possible

I just got back into pixelfed and wanted to say thank you it has been awesome seeing all the new people joining and really motivating me to start taking photos and posting again

Hey! I'm trying to log in to pixeldroid via pixelfed.social but I keep getting "Web server is returning an unknown error" immediately after entering the instance domain. Tried searching around but found no other reports of this. And the website itself works fine in my browser.

I don't what to join an already overburdened instance, which one do ya'll recommend?

I’ve finally got access to my account but I can’t figure out how to view or upload anything when I look at the videos tab all it says is This feature has not been enabled for your account yet.

So is loops not actually working yet or am I missing something?

I registered for Pixelfed.Social 3 days ago and still haven't received an email that confirmed my account, and I can't sign in on the website. Is it dead, or are the moderators a bit slower than it said on the website? If I was rejected would I receive an email?

I signed up for the Beta of loops but never got a email. When I went to the site I was not given a option to sign in when tried to sign up with the email I used to try and join the beta I was told the email and username was taken. I tried with another email and was told a confirmation email would be coming but I never got one is there anyway to fix this?

I’ve recently started to use Pixelfed, and I’ve been loving it so far. However, I can’t seem to find any cool profiles to follow. Most of the content that shows up for me on my “Discover” tab doesn’t really interest me.

Most pictures on said tab are nature photography - don’t get me wrong, I think it’s awesome that photographers are posting their work on Pixelfed, but that’s not really what interests me.

What profiles would you guys recommend? Any meme profiles?
