So can I get rid of container tabs now

Ok, this makes sense, thank you.

I'm now able to access my Jellyfin server from other devices in my home. (A browser on another machine, and an Apple TV with Swiftfin).

If I wanted to extend access to people outside my home, what's the best way?

Thank you

Vue is the only browser-based movie client listed on the Jellyfin site. Is there a better browser-based option?

I'm new to Jellyfin, and I'm having trouble getting started.

Goals:

  • Host my media on a Mac Mini server
  • Access my media in my home from 2 other devices (one is an Apple TV, the other is a Firefox browser on my HTPC)
  • Let my family members in other homes access my server via Roku or Apple TV.

So far I've set up Jellyfin Server on my Mac Mini (specs below). I can see my media. Server seems to be working.

But when I try to access my server via Jellyfin Vue on another device, I keep getting an "Unable to connect" message. I've tried different server addresses, but no luck. Any ideas on how to address?

Thank you Lemmy folks!

HW:

  • Mac Mini (Early 2009)
  • 293 GB Storage

Yeah WTF is this art, this is NOT the way to do it.

Fun fact about the original Sim City: the lead developer said that they wanted to model real cities in the game, but "we quickly realized there were way too many parking lots in the real world and that our game was going to be really boring if it was proportional in terms of parking lots."

But... Why? Why would they get different restrictions on the basis of operating system?

Who's this guy Richard Medhurst?

I'm looking for a newsletter that I can read every morning that gets me up to speed with the previous day's news re: Gaza & Palestine. (I'll still read Lemmy! Lemmy is great. But I find the newsletter format very useful in the morning.)

Does anything like this exist? What are your preferred newsletters covering the latest phase of the occupation and war?

Thank you

Someone on eBay claims to be selling a VHS tape of Lana Del Rey's childhood birthday party, and it's dividing her fans on reddit.

Here's what happened: A reddit user posted (screenshot here ) on on r/lanadelrey, saying that they'd been approached by an eBay seller who claims to have the only copy of this VHS tape. (This seller has claimed this for years, if that matters.) The reddit user was debating whether or not to buy the tape. The comments exploded, with a raging debate about whether it was invasive to Lana Del Rey, or whether the fans should buy the tape and destroy it or give it back to her. The comments got so heated that the mods eventually took the post down.

Now they're censoring anyone who brings up the tape. It's completely banned on that subreddit.

I think it's really interesting that a VHS tape is responsible for all of this! How many of her fans even have VCRs?
