It seems to me that you are approaching this complex topic from an oversimplified view. Human behaviour isn't as simple as you put it.

I think it's best to encourage people to go see professionals if they suspect they might have a disorder or any kind of illness. But I think it's detrimental to tell them they are just imagining things as this might lead to serious issues flying under the radar.

Let the people decide who studied this.

Alright, please link your peer-reviewed study on this as soon as you were able to prove the generality of your personal impressions.

but it feels like everyone today needs to have some mental illness or disorder

What causes this impression?

You literally said:

Maybe in your desire to feel special

That is condescending.

you've got a better chance of being wrong than you do right

Although that "feels" reasonable, I wonder whether we have actual numbers on this.

Wäre es nach Phettberg dann Bürgymeisty?

I see. Thanks for clarifying that! I already thought you were joking, but wasn't so sure. Seems a lot of people didn't get it as you intended.
You could consider adding a flag like /j, /i or /s (depending on context) to such comments to avoid confusion.

Please provide an explanation, preferrably with sources, if you think my explanation is wrong.

it is wrong to want to be spoonfed your computing needs

Why though? It's not like you are building your own OS every time on assembler level, or do you?
Making software more convenient is one of the reasons for having software at all.

That doesn't mean turning it into an "opaque box" where company interests will be pushed. Having a more user experience oriented design in Linux distros can save a lot of time and frustration as well as make it more attractive to average users. Even power users, who work with Linux professionally will benefit.

And it just might start with something as simple as proper documentation of a package.

FYI: the packaging is not edible.

Exactly. There are so many who don't like tofu. Like my mother in-law, who just took a bite of raw tofu and came to the conclusion it's not for her. Yeah, no shit.
My wife and I then spent some time serving her various recipes, where tofu is one of the main ingredients. And now she likes it.

I like, what my wife says about tofu: it's like a blank canvas. You have to paint it with spices and various cooking methods to make it beautiful.

Another comparison are Mozzarella cheese or noodles. Bland and boring on their own, but great in combination with sauces and spices.

... Now I wan't to eat the "scrambled tofu", my wife sometimes cooks. It's fucking delicious.

An overview of studies which investigate correlations between morality and religious vs. secular / atheist ideologies presented by Phil Zuckerman who is a professor of sociology and secular studies at the Claremont colleges in California, USA.

Summary: Atheists / secular people not only have morals but are even more moral than religious people.

Note: Of course moral is a matter of perspective. In this context we agree that compassion and empathy are our foundations of moral.
