It's not just "can this hospital take care of you" but "is this hospital 'in network' for you". If you've got full coverage but are unconscious and somebody takes you to the wrong place you might as well not have any insurance at all.

I'm insured through my job, and they have a $500 deductible for ambulance rides. I can uber to the hospital for 1/10th that price!

Oof that sucks. I'm always paranoid that something like that will happen.

lmao, but also maybe I've been lucky but I've never had a boss so bad I would do this to 'em. All of my job exits have been amicable and known about well in advance of my last day sans-shrug

I think the system is too stable with Putin at the head, and his personal conservatism trickles down into all of the country's institutions.

Maybe when he dies there will be an opening for someone or some group with another vision for the country. Nobody who gets thrown around as a potential successor to him now has anywhere near the political capital he has, and would have to perfectly navigate a transition to a post-Putin political system in order to remain on top, something which might be made impossible by conditions outside of their control.

Stalin called it in 1926

What would happen if capital succeeded in smashing the Republic of Soviets? There would set in an era of the blackest reaction in all the capitalist and colonial countries, the working class and the oppressed peoples would be seized by the throat, the positions of international communism would be lost.

It's a legitimate constitutional crisis, but I don't think any of the stake holders are willing to actually pull the trigger yet. I will say though that the longer this story goes on the worse it looks for Biden - imagine how much it would energize the blue maga people if he ordered the national guard to stand down and had the secret service drag Greg Abbot before congress in handcuffs for treason. It would be must-watch TV at the very least.

I'm not a fan of Pineapple, but the worst pizzas by far are altoona and rhode island

Come on. Lets see the Texas National Guard and the Border Patrol get into open conflict. It would be the first time either of them has fought a peer enemy, and it would produce some chefs-kiss combat footage.

I think that, with everybody else zigging, they should zag. Give it to Stavros and make it completely apolitical, just bring celebrities on to talk about their dicks.

There was a time when I would have praised Stewart for getting out while the getting was good (ignoring his awful podcast), but it looks like he wants to go the way of Stephen Colbert instead. RIP in peace you god damn liberal.
