I feel like nhentai listened to DMCA requests when they occurred didn't they? I thought many FAKKU titles weren't available for that reason.

Wotakoi, Black Lagoon, Baccano (I think?), 91 Days, Akudama Drive, Golden Kamuy, Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens, ID: Invaded, Dragon Maid, Spice and Wolf, Wave Listen To Me! to name a couple

Man, I love the characters in this anime. They're all quite... excentric, but in an actually fun way instead of over the top and annoying. Also, sick new ED

Not sure about the consensus, but I'm really enjoying it.

I'm close to dropping Wistoria. It looks really good, but the story, characters and world are so typical of such a setting. Also some aspects that imo really required more world building

The true motive, I perceive, is certain companies don't like non-walled garden platforms. Therefore, it's not anti-piracy enforcement, but anti-competitive behavior

Absolutely. They're unable (probably unwilling too) to provide a better experience than MangaDex, so instead of spending funds for providing a better experience, they have to resort to this.

Ah yes, because the Tachiyomi thing worked out so well. It's not like dozens of forks popped up.

Kakao is not gonna get more money out of this, because something new'll pop up. Also because Kakao does a lot through Tapas, which uses an awful and expensive coin system. Closing down MangaDex likely won't bring in more paying customers.

MangaDex is great for discovering new manga. So much of my purchased manga and manwha is because I found it on MangaDex. Probably the majority of my collection tbh. It's also sometimes used by legit companies and comic artists to post their stuff.

Yeah, it's really sad

It totally is, but Masaki seems to be all too ready to milk the hell out of it, which, for youtube kind of stuff, isn't necessarily a recipe for success. That's what I meant. She realized an important thing and tries to take action accordingly, but still hasn't lost the almost corporate content factory mindset

If you just want Mail, there's the Mail Plus plan, which is just the Mail (with a little bit of Drive for mail storage) and cheaper than the Unlimited plan. I see what you're saying though. I'd like more customisable plans too. I use Drive and Mail, but don't want the others and the Mail Plus plan doesn't have enough for Drive (for my usecase), so I have to shell out for Unlimited.

Finally some self-reflection from Masaki, even if she hasn't learned from it fully.

Hmm, true. Though I can understand it. The humour in Elusive Samurai can be incredibly off-putting.
