@drwho It's amazing how much work can go on behind the scenes to make things smooth and simple for the user....

@drwho @squid_slime

Wow, that sounds like quite the adventure!! I can’t imagine juggling all those steps just to boot up the system....

@lemmysarius @halm

After doing a few Google searches, I found that non-destructive editing is not fully implemented in GIMP 3.0, but that it is something that some of the developers are hoping to work towards over the next few years. GIMP 3.0 appears to primarily focus on moving to GTK+3....

@Steamymoomilk At the very least, they could create deb & or rpm packages. They also have the option to use flatpak, snap, or appimage....

@mactan @Nimrod It's very true that windows often disrupts multiboot setups. Just ask anyone who has a multiboot setup in place. They'll probably agree....

@Swedneck @breadsmasher It's wild how most modern laptops are a nightmare for repairs. Framework, feels like a breath of fresh air. [–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

@wer2 @Chewy7324 exactly the same here. I too daily drive XFCE, never really change my setup, and don't require anything special that wayland offers. My setup just works for the most part....

@sugar_in_your_tea Same here.. Until now, I've pretty much used each phone until the batteries died or the phones stopped receiving updates. My current phone, "OnePlus 9 Pro," is different, though, because I'm considering replacing the battery when it goes and using the phone long after updates have stopped. Having no security updates doesn't really bother me because I don't actually use my phone all that much, and whenever I do, I'm pretty careful anyway.

@sugar_in_your_tea fair enough & I suppose you could just go to a repair shop if not....
