So it doesn’t exactly fit but the first job I got after my training was, as I found out later, just a stand-in for someone else who had more experience but couldn’t join until about a month or two later. So I was supposed to be fired during probation once he joined. My coworker, who was already unhappy with his job, found out about it and quit right before the arrival of the other guy to make room for me (my hero!). So I took his place and my boss was stuck with me being there. A few months later my (new) coworker and me (and a few others) quit at around the same time because it became unbearable to work at this place.

I started the tradition with my parents and brother of saving money over the year for charity. We put up a jar at my parents house and whenever we visit and have money to spare (which for me is a fixed amount that I put aside every month), it goes into the jar. On christmas the money is split evenly among us and everyone tells which cause/organization they are going to donate their part to.

The jar thing is not ideal because I rarely have cash on me so I always have to go to the bank first and then when it’s time to donate, the cash money has to go back into the bank. But it’s nice to look at and it doesn’t tell exactly how much is in it from a glance, so it’s a bit of a mystery until Christmas. I might propose to go digital for next year though.

It does explain why a piece of shit like him gets elected. Moral integrity is not important to people.

Sorry, I came to this post because op linked to it in a follow-up post and I didn't check the age because the topic wasn't about current events.

I think most people will just take things if they have the chance. Yes it's stressful to think this way but unlike many of my friends I almost never get stuff stolen because I am very paranoid and always keep things close to me or very secure. I only made a mistake once with my bike and of course it was stolen.

I've met enough people telling me If I leave something unattended it's free for grabs. I don't understand this mentality but it is how they think.

Based on your most listened, maybe try Little Simz, clipping, Fantasic Negrito (Album: Last Days of Oakland)

For something maybe a little outside the box I recommend The Books, Gramatik, Pretty Lights, Cosmo Sheldrake

Educate yourself about what smoking does to your body. Imagine it on every inhale. Make yourself really hate it. Set a specific end date in the near future (but keep it to yourself, you don’t need outside pressure). In the meantime continue thinking about how much you hate smoking. Then stop cold turkey.

If you miss smoke breaks with others at work or whatever, just keep hanging out with them but don’t smoke. If they ask about it, don’t say you are trying to stop, say you did stop.

  1. Sure, if it’s just a bare link in the comments I understand, but as a post with the original video title and usually an autogenerated thumbnail, I don’t see a problem.
  2. The YT descriptions are not shown in the list of videos and rarely contain a summary of the video.

I’m sorry, I don’t get what the true purpose was.

I wouldn’t mind switching to alternative libraries like Svelte or Solid but can’t imagine going back to plain Javascript for complex applications. It’s a pain in the ass, even with jQuery.

iPhones are not turned on for 8+ hours straight though.

But if Apple is doing it they probably figured this out.
