In addition to the other comments, we should note that the photo in question is referencing the OJ Simpson murder case, a very high profile and racially charged trial among the public in the U.S.

Oh interesting. I picked it from a list as it appeared to be a more privacy-focused instance and blocked all the annoying pseudo political communities. That said, having to pick a random line from the communist manifesto during sign up as a spam account filter should have been my clue. Chalked it up as a quirk of the developers…

I’m curious, why block Lemmy.ml?

Never expected to see Yandex mentioned in a privacy focused forum…

Interesting that you’ve had such a negative experience with Google Fi. My job requires regular relocation around the globe plus frequent international travel. I have yet to visit a country where it doesn’t work for the ~10 years I have been with them.

Thanks for the link.

From my quick read, doesn’t seem that they don’t support it. More of a caution to understand the risks involved with each App Store. For example, their comments regarding F-Droid are completely valid.

All you get from F-Droid is knowing that the developer adding a closed source third party library will likely get detected and the app won't get updated, but in exchange you're trusting people to build/sign the apps who have shown consistent untrustworthy behavior. You're also getting significantly delayed updated in many cases.

Ah gotcha. Wasn’t aware the GOS team doesn’t like F-Droid.

What do you mean it doesn’t support fdroid? I’m using fdroid on my GOS phone and GOS tablet.
