my dog is made to herd, but she's scared of sheep and a silly potato
Dogs
All about dogs - dog breeds, dog training and behavior, news affecting dog owners or handlers, puppy pics, etc.
Rules (Will be refined later on).
-
Don't be a dick. This should cover most things, just keep in mind that everyone started somewhere and try to be helpful rather than rude or judgmental.
-
No personal attacks based on training style or tools.
Discussion of balanced training including proper use of aversives is allowed here. -
All breeds and mixes are welcome. You can criticize backyard breeding practices but don't pile on people because they own a specific breed or prefer purebreds or mixed breeds.
-
Do not support backyard breeders or puppy mills. Please do not link to or suggest buying from high volume breeders or those with an obvious lack of standards and testing.
-
Do not help or support fake service animals. Please do not encourage people to buy fake service dog vest or ESA letters to get around rental or other restrictions & do not give advice on how to misrepresent a dog as a service or support animal.
That side eye!
ah yes, the south carolina derp hound, I have one of those.
Here’s my potato mutt. Her name is Xion!
She is adorable!
Is she named after the Kingdom Hearts character? She's absolutely adorable
You got it! Her best friend’s name was Roxas so we only saw it fitting to name her Xion.
Thanks! She knows how cute she is and uses her cuteness to get whatever she wants.
Great Danes take up great amounts of space
I give my dog a treat. She drops some on the ground. I point at it and say "What's this?" She sniffs every part of the ground around my hand. I pick up the piece of treat and hold it under her nose. "What's this?!" She frantically sniffs around my wrist. She never finds the leftover treat bits.
Aww, sweet girl, she is treat-challenged.
This potato likes to party!
She's p sure she's built for guarding and herding the cats
Potato kisses!
You better rub that potato belly!
Puggle? The smartest potato that will enter your life. So adorable
He's a Chug (chihuahua x pug). He's a very sweet boy, but not all that smart!
Legitimately looks like a potato with a cute face.
Not my potato, but I did get his permission to post
Two for one!
A potato is a potato, regardless of animal type.
He loves belly rubs, clamours for attention just like a dog. He's basically a dog.
Potato confirmed.
A very dignified potato.
Of course I rubbed her belly right after taking the photo
Potatoes do best with ample belly rubs.
