As things are more likely to fall back to the states, make sure your state is willing to fight for their rights

It's worth noting that many local and state offices are paid part time positions. Many people work a full time job and do work for a small local office on the side

Yep. I have a close family member that is a state legislator. I built their website, too. I also run other politician's websites. I know how much work and effort it takes to actually manage an official position. It's a lot and you have to sacrifice a lot. So it bugs me when people just throw that around "just run for office, then" like it's no big deal.
