A new U.S. News And World Report survey of 2,500 Americans across the five most populous U.S. states (PA, TX, NY, CA, and FL) found that U.S. broadband prices continue to soar for most users. Most of the survey’s findings aren’t surprising; broadband access costs are reaching $100 for most users, and Americans continue to pay some of the highest rates for access in the developed world.

Republicans are desperate for people to give up on government so they can continue doing everything they can to dismantle the only opposition to corporatocracy. The party controlling the FCC, the elected officials in Congress, supreme Court justices...they all matter in turning the shop around. Republicans have been trying to run the ship aground.

I’m not saying we should give up. I’m saying that electoral reform is fucking mandatory if we want to avoid the oligarchic death spiral we’ve found ourselves in.
