While I find it good news that he is talking about Marxism and Marxist philosophy/ideology, I don't like much the idea of following someone based on appearances. Is Lukashenko promoting Marxism in universities? Is he applying dialectical materialism to understand his country and that is being translated into actual policy? I find this important, because otherwise it would be much more a PR move rather than an actual change. Regardless, it's better to have a leader promoting Marxism than one who condemns it.

First link - he says Marxism (not ML) and recommends it to those who want to "understand life" whatever that means.
Second link - after hearing ML takes foremost place, Lukashenko asks "So what, are you going backwards?" seemingly suggesting ML is a thing of the past. The lady explains that mainstream economic theories don't apply to Belarus because they have a heavily regulated economy - which is a strange thing to say for a Marxist cause describing how capitalism functions is kinda the main thing.
Finally as other said, fuck Dugin with a rake.
His country managed to minimize the damage the fall of the Soviet Union has done. It should be no surprise that there is at least somewhat of a positive view towards ML.

He did. Chinese researchers point out that in the post-Soviet space, Belarus was the first country to overcome the disruption of traditional trade and economic relations caused by the collapse of the Soviet Union and achieve rapid economic growth.

Also there's one thing the Twitter poster left out: the reason Belarusian textbooks were recently revised was because Lukashenko had taken a look through a philosophy textbook and was horrified at what was being taught, and demanded a return to Soviet norms.
The President said that he had recently taken a look at the philosophy textbook for university students, the one his youngest son Nikolai is using. “It is a pure nightmare!” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “This textbook is nonsense! Soviet textbooks gave clearly structured answers to all the questions, but this one is garbage. No student will be able to learn it.”
Educators went above and beyond and not only revised the philosophy textbook, but also threw out the old political economy textbook because as pointed out by the teacher in that short video, mainstream/liberal economic theory is useless for managing the Belarusian economy.
You’re arguing with a Belarusian… who’s family has lived in the country for hundreds of years… that you understand Belarusian politics and economics better then them.
Also that random bit about the philosophy textbook is complete nonsense. He doesn’t give any specifics, and what he said doesn’t mean anything.
Belarus has the highest standard of living of any post-Soviet state, has a strong state industry making farm machinery and is more self-sufficient when it comes to food than European countries.

At least you recognise your bias and you must know that since you live it is impossible for you to be objective like an outsider can. I'm not saying your experience is not valid, it is, it's just silly to assume that everything you think/feel about Belarus is absolutely 100% correct and that anybody who hasn't been born and lived in Belarus can't possibly know anything about Belarus.
Belarus also had the lowest covid deaths in Europe, there have been western studies on it and their conclusion was largely because healthcare was maintained enough through the collapse that they have I think it's 7 beds per 1000 people, versus the US and UK having somewhere between 0.8-1.2 beds per 1000, and Russia and other eastern bloc countries were much lower too because of the post-USSR privatization and plundering being so much worse. I think even Germany only had 1.6 beds per 1000. I forget the exact numbers so don't quote them exactly, but it is a studied topic. Meanwhile western media was berating Belarus for a couple jokes Lukashenko made irt covid about "go to a sauna and drink some vodka you'll be fine" as if the government was letting everyone die (It's a thing I've noticed is the western media, either deliberately or out of total ignorance for the language and culture never even allows consideration that Lukashenko might be joking with the press).
But the west media was hand-wringing in articles like Belarus were taking a full on 'ignore it and it will go away' approach, while at the same time having articles of pro-west and reactionary protestors against the government in Belarus being dragged away by police to show the authoritarianism (the favorite liberal buzzword which never applies to US mass prisons or militarized hypermurderous police), and in those article photos all of the police are wearing masks (and the protestors in large part weren't). It's always projection. Cops in the US never wore masks, even during the Floyd protests at the height of covid before vaccine access; even in cities where people were dying en masse because there were no hospital beds or supplies. Closest thing the pigs did to masking up was the visors on their robocop riot gear when they were brutally bashing heads supported by military humvees and experimental war machines. Over a dozen people were killed by cops in those protests, many within a few weeks of the start. But no look over at Belarus and Lukashenko!! Pay no attention to the fascists behind our curtain.
