Which flavor of Conservative is your favorite?

Had the Conservative conservatives and the Liberal conservatives. Could we get the New Democratic communists for a change?

No, you can choose Conservative. Would you like a bluer or redder color and rhetoric?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago

Well, I thought I might go for an oranger color and rhetoric for a change, but what do I know!

My understanding is that the union and the rail companies are pretty far apart in negotiations. The workers/ union were happy to keep working while negotiations progressed, but the rail companies didn't want to negotiate anymore and wanted to go to binding arbitration.

Rail companies locked out the workers.

Government says "you can't do that you have to go to binding arbitration".

Rail companies get an absolute win. It's so fucked.

My knowledge of the union history is spotty at best for American unions, and non-existent for Canada (though I'm sure there are many similarities) but why doesn't the union just say "fuck off you have no workers anymore" and strike?

That's exactly what seems to be happening

Jagmeet is the king of champagne leftism. All talk and no action

Awesome, who was the true leftist (or whatever affiliation) thats been working on this and supporting the workers so we can support them! Missed it, or clearly the media has been biased and not promoting their great work.

Ijust heard Jagmeet say the other day that they absolutely would not let the Liberals pull anything like that and would stand by the workers and hold the governments to account. So I guess we're having an election now?
