I've finally promoted enough dwarves to be able to join any deep dive without any problems, and I'm very surprised how much more fun there is to be had with the overclocks.

My absolute favourite has got to be the one that gives the engineer's grenade launcher extreme self knockback. All of my TF2 soldier skills are being put to great use!

I would lovr to hear what your favourite overclocks are and how they affect your performance as a miner on Hoxxes IV.

Mortar Rounds and Big Bertha for the Thunderhead Autocannon are a ton of fun. Just shoot bug.

Rewiring Mod for the Drak is an interesting playstyle where you keep shooting for more ammo. It feels very counterintuitive after conserving ammo for so long.

Explosive Chemical rounds for the Lok-1 are a bit difficult to pull off in a crisis, but very satisfying to delete waves when it goes right. Hyperpropellant on the PGL is also great, it about as close as we get to a railgun so far.

Blistering Necrosis for the Wave Cooker turns a naedocyte popper into a Praetorian killer, and it pairs well with big hitters like the M1000 or an axe. My favorite driller overclock and favorite season 5 overclock has to be Combustive Goo and a Plasma Burn EPC for a fire starter. It's like a liquid C4 gun, or the two headed dragon from HTTYD. Trap anything in the goo wave, then blow everything up! If something big catches on fire you can keep the explosions going through multiple charged shots and obliterate anything smaller than a dreadnought! It's so fun!

Special Powder was the first overclock I got, and it took my friend nearly threatening me with hammers to finally switch off of it. It just adds so much more mobility to an already mobile class, it feels like I'm dancing across the caves. Outside of that, Ai Stability Engine for the GK2 and Supercooling Chamber for the M1000 feel very rewarding to use.

For Driller, I like Scorching Tide for the Flamethrower and Blistering Necrosis for the Wave Cooker. Scorching Tide reminds me of the Flamewall from Rise of the Triad and does very nice damage, and Blistering Necrosis adds easy weakpoints to enemies for a fairly low cost.

I don't have many overclocks for Engie or Gunner, so Engie just gets Executioner for the LOK-1 and RJ250 for the PGL for fun hee hee jumping time, and Gunner gets 5 minutes of asking my friend who plays Gunner what to do.

I find scout's electrifying reload really satisfying even though I know it's not very strong on paper.

Pump action is great for Engi, adds a lot more kick. Double barrel for scout is similar. Also obligatory Fat Boy.

Overdrive booster, for the shard diffractor. Point at a praetorians face, start firing, press R, no more praetorian. Works from across the map, too; and it only takes 50 ammo

For driller: Sticky flames for sure, especially on swarmaggedon warnings

Unstable Containment Field is fun too, though hard to master

Also the shotgun effect on the goo cannon. Helps a lot with range.

For scout: Focused shot, even though it's dangerous on higher haz

The no recoil one on the submachine gun

And yeah Special Powder of course

special powder for scouts shotgun. It's like force-a-nature from tf2.

I remember seeing that in a Soundsmith video! Can't wait to get it and return to the station without the drop pod.
