If the 5–6 million Jews that the Axis massacred were exclusively anti‐Zionists, then Zionists would immediately and unhesitatingly hail all the Axis powers and their collaborators as heroes.

You know it’s true.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Pretty sure many of them were. I.e. Litvaks in Vilnius

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Correct! But the Axis also liquidated Zionist Jews when they were no longer useful, and for Zionists that was the point where the Axis went too far. Even killing a single Zionist Jew would have been too much. If all 5–6 million—without exception—were confirmed anti‐Zionists, though? No big deal.

New EU austerity measures force Belgium to make budget cuts of up to 30 billion in the next few years. What a time to be alive.

No free public transport anytime soon

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I just hoor the unions and socialist parties keep their back straight and strike

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (4 children)

What if we just don't do budget cuts? What are they gonna do kick us out?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago

That would be an epic funny. But unfortunately line must go up so I don't think it's going to happen in this society.

My friend sent me on Instagram a video of Jos D'Haese of the Belgian Workers Party advocating for better housing in the Flemish parliament. This friend is pretty apolitical and never sent me stuff like this before. Pretty random as well, since we are Dutch and not Belgian. I hope this is the beginning of him moving to the left.

Jos has the ability to actually reach (younger) people. Even one of my friends, who is a VVD politician, said he liked Jos.

New job, new me. I won't hold my breath, but hopefully the hours are better with this one. The commute is a bit shorter, anyway.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Congrats. Is it something you wanted or just a I dont wanna die job?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (4 children)

Thanks! A little bit of both but more in the 'something I wanted' pile. It's quite similar to the last place. I find that after too long in the same job all the little annoying things build up too much. They become 'reasons to leave' rather than things that just get on my nerves.

And I find that when I get too comfortable, employers and managers try to take advantage a little bit more and a little bit more. You spend all this time cultivating an image of just-about-competent. But after a few years of not fucking up, they can see right through it and give you all the extra work, anyway lol.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Let me guess with no extra pay for the extra work.

It's starting to look like that.

Tradwife vids are becoming more popular on Dutch TikTok right now. Truly a country that set progress in reverse the last few years.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Dutch tradwifes eh? Do they wear clogs while they help their husbands pillage Indonesia?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

That would make more sense but the influencers just seem to go for a Mad Men 1950s cosplay where they play secretly depressed housewives that drink wine all day

Kind of crazy how insane the cult of personality around taylor swift is.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I've met seen some really cool "Swifty's" but they are relatively rare.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago

they might be cool despite being a swiftie not because of it lol

I know reddit is a mess but Instagram has to take the crown of bizarre comment threads for sure. You could post a picture of a pillow on a couch, no context whatsoever, and people will be fighting about something in the comments. You'd almost think the entire thing is simulated or something.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (2 children)

In my experience Instagram comments are even more reactionary than Reddit comments

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago

There's no downvotes and the comments are up depending on how many replies it gets, also instagram doesn't seem to automatically remove slurs or autoban for using them

There's a pro strongman that has started shitting on shitty people from the comments section of fitness videos. For example: woman lifts heavy weight, butt hurt "men" comment various idiotic hateful things, strongman looks at their profile and calls them a removed based on something relevant.

Obviously it doesn't do anything systematically, but it is a bit of solidarity and the original poster often tanks him. So I guess that's okay.

But yeah they are the worst.

I received R$ 100 euros from my aunt as a gift out of nowhere, and Riva wanted to remove a pipe full of rats from my grandmother's sink I had a very busy sunday.
