US President Joe Biden has announced that he will end his candidacy for re-election, saying "it is in the best interest of my party and the country".

It comes four months before Americans go to the polls, upending the race for the White House.

It follows weeks of intense pressure from fellow Democrats after a faltering debate performance against Republican Donald Trump at the end of June.

Biden just told the press that she was not qualified to be president a few days ago, so I'm not sure where that sits with regard to endorsement. Not that a reviled genocidal sociopath has much credibility.

But campaign finance laws (pretending those matter) would prevent the money raised going to anyone other than Kamala.... I wonder if the dems might just force her to take a backseat again, just as a way to juggle the money around.
