Sergio Perez recently signed a new contract at Red Bull Racing, but that does not mean the Mexican will automatically stay in 2025, with the fight for the Constructors' championship looking tight after recent poor performances.

On one hand I find it strange that RB extended his contract; on another that makes it easier for other teams to battle with Max.

I just want it to be over. Enough extensions. Enough chances. If they don't move soon on Perez, they risk the constructors. Probably at risk regardless. Who, though?

Perez usually performs a bit worse after a contract extension, no? This was predictable. He brings in loads of money. The teams nowadays are really profitable. I guess they value money over performance. Or gambled that Max will bring in enough points on his own.

I think that perspective is too generous. When was the last period of competent, consistent driving from him? Also, he's been driving poorly from before the contract extension hence everyone's shock that he got resigned.

While obviously the marketing value is high to Red Bull, they make a lot of money from winning the constructors, if he's threatening that, I wonder what the sums look like when they net them out.

Get fresh blood in not someone to just warm the seat.
