Pretty sexist to put it on 'my wife is too upset', reeks of boomer garbage

Rules for Posting Guides on Our Community
1. Defining a Guide Guides are comprehensive reference materials, how-tos, or comparison tables. A guide must be well-organized both in content and layout. Information should be easily accessible without unnecessary navigation. Guides can include flowcharts, step-by-step instructions, or visual references that compare different elements side by side.
2. Infographic Guidelines Infographics are permitted if they are educational and informative. They should aim to convey complex information visually and clearly. However, infographics that primarily serve as visual essays without structured guidance will be subject to removal.
3. Grey Area Moderators may use discretion when deciding to remove posts. If in doubt, message us or use downvotes for content you find inappropriate.
4. Source Attribution If you know the original source of a guide, share it in the comments to credit the creators.
5. Diverse Content To keep our community engaging, avoid saturating the feed with similar topics. Excessive posts on a single topic may be moderated to maintain diversity.
6. Verify in Comments Always check the comments for additional insights or corrections. Moderators rely on community expertise for accuracy.

maybe this isn't a good holiday
Whaaaatt noooo, we're only in the middle of a climate crisis and following a yearly tradition to release a metric fuckton of heat and pollution, it's always patriotism before everything!
If it’s after midnight, and there are mortar shells going off less than 100’ from my small childeren’s windows, I’m calling. Not 911, just the non emergency number, but fuck your celebration after quiet hours, some of us work early jobs for a living and can’t be trying to calm hysterical kids all night who can’t sleep because of the booming.
Wtf, calling the cops because my cat is upset ISN'T considered a good enough reason? Fucking literally 1984.
Truly the epitome of cool guides. /s
Cat has every right to shoot back
In my country it is illegal to set off fireworks on the 4th of July.
It is in my city too, yet hundreds do it. Are you gonna call 911 on them all?
It’s currently 110 degrees with a high wildfire risk where I live. So yes
If my cat so much as gets spooked by a firework, I'm calling the fucking cops. This is a free country
Gfl, you’ll just wind up pissing them off and tie up the lines for people who need it.
You're getting downvoted a lot, but are right. The police absolutely do not care about fireworks calls, and the increased 911 volume absolutely delays responses to more pressing calls. In my city, the police ignore fireworks calls, but the call centers get overwhelmed with angry people seeking to wield law enforcement against their neighbors. Obviously this may vary by police department, but it's widely the case
They're illegal many places, but also not worthy of a 911 call.
