And the mod @[email protected] will do anything to silence people talking about it.

Why is such a hate community that larps/memes as loving crimes against humanity and terrorist groups like blackwater so well received? This is the sort of shit you'd see on 4chan.

TLDR: It’s literally just satire. OOP is making fun of conservatives and transphobes.

Yeah, it's a common confusion. It took me a second to understand that they are just really into their special interest. Everything there is satire, to the extent that I think there is a rule that states "no serious posting." It's an incredibly abnormal community, and due to the deep and layered level of satire, they are heavy-handed with moderation because people mistake the satire for genuineness and try to get them banned.

Since some of the content may use the aesthetics of bigotry, for example, lots of jokes about mass murder and, as you see here, transphobia, I believe you're allowed to feel uncomfortable with it. However, the evidence I have seen doesn't indicate that any of it is genuine. If you are familiar with c/196 or c/egg_irl and have seen some of the satirical self-criticism in relation to trans identitiesthere, that's the kind of vibe they have, but for planes and tanks and shit.

I don't know. I subscribe because I find it interesting, and I haven't seen anything nearly as hateful as what I have seen on like, [email protected] since I figured out what their deal was.

Having said that, I do wish that @[email protected] would be slightly more transparent with what the community is about in order to avoid this kind of situation. They could put pinned comments under posts like this, stating that transphobia will not be tolerated and similar. (nuke if you are reading this, just like, consider it. Your community is well moderated from what I have seen but the attitude of the moderation doesn’t help outsiders get what is going on.)

Trans rights are human rights. The entire mod team is on board with that statement. This is a troll trying to get us banned.

I think it’s just more possible than you might think from your POV that people are just utterly confused what is going on. Happened to me once and then I figured it out, so I try to give a couple seconds of good faith to help them out.

The best way to make sarcastic jokes land is to explain that they are sarcastic in each post!

Not what I said, you conveniently left out the example immediately following this sentence. Please engage with me in context or not at all.

They could put pinned comments under posts like this, stating that transphobia will not be tolerated and similar.

This example, which is explaining the that the joke is sarcastically mocking the transphobic identify as a helicopter meme?

Maybe I should have included that as well, but thought it made the quote a bit repetitive being an inch higher on the screen and all.

If you think a pinned comment that says “trans rights are human rights, transphobia will be banned” (which the mods already did, just too late till after OP fully formed an opinion on the situation) and nothing more, is explaining the joke, then sure. I would love to see the joke explained.

Not much else to say, Have a great day. :)

I'm having a pretty great day, thanks!

Excellent ! 💃💃💃 Keep it up

Where's the transphobic part?

[–] [email protected] 33 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (3 children)

boo hoo my post got removed so I have to label a community with trans people as transphobes

[–] [email protected] -1 points 4 months ago

Dude just be nice OP is a person who is understandably misunderstanding a very confusing situation. Escalating like this just makes people more angry on all fronts.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Yup, and Nuke explicitly stated in the reply when banning that trans rights are human rights.

The aerosexual post is mocking the identify as a helicopter meme along with mocking people who have a fetish for flying military hardware.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Where are people getting the idea that it even has anything to do with the attack helicopter meme? Because both things reference flying military hardware? Because as far as I can see that's literally the only "connection".

The "aerosexual" thing is because people on NCD constantly post extremely horny art of anthropomorphic fighter planes. This has nothing to do with identifying as anything. They don't want to be fighter planes, they want to fuck fighter planes, because if you're not a weirdo who's horny as hell for military hardware then what are you even doing on NCD? And the joke is, to be clear, entirely self deprecating. It's "haha, we're a really weird and fucked up community aren't we guys?"

along with mocking people who have a fetish for flying military hardware.

Which is all of NCD, it's on the entrance exam.
