This is a feature that I miss, along with attachments on calendar events. I was thinking of building something myself using NLP and NER to read an email and extract calendar details from it, but I'd need access to an API to be able to do that and the API is no longer public. Is there any way to either get access to these APIs or some other workaround for this?

Lol, I just realised I'm in the minority, I hated Gmail doing that shit.

I only want stuff I add explicitly to my calendar.

If I'm not mistaken, the mobile mail client does this. I remember there being a button at the top of the email to add the event to Proton Calendar

That's if there's an ics file attached, I'm referring to reading the email to get your flight information.

I don't have an answer. This issue is why I left Proton mail. I'm waiting for a built in (or reasonably automatic) solution before migrating my email back to Proton.

Thank you for asking here. I'll be reading along in case someone has something that's not too burdensome.
