The number 1 thing that keeps me interested in games, is having people to play with. When I created my group ironman, I never had so much fun. Even tho we're only 2 that's still active, having somebody to play with is key for me.
If I was you, I would find a friend to start playing with, or if you have nobody that's interested in osrs. Join a clan and get to know other people! Or you can dm me I'll gladly add you
Definitely a good point, and thanks for the offer! Might just pick you up on that later down the line 😊
Do you know if you're starting an ironman or non-ironman? And what did you try to play before, when you lost interest?
Have not tried iron man before, sounds interesting though! Bit I think a group iron man would be alot more fun than solo.
I made this some time ago, like 2 yrs. Id strongly suggest getting 1 month of member to try it out. The game is great and you miss so much in the free part of the world. And also, OSRS community is pure gold. That being said, at some point the game gets a little bit too grindy for me. And thats when i stopped playing, but i had a LOT of fun in the way
I consider completing Drsgon Slayer 1 my own litmus test of whether I should upgrade an account to members. On making it stick, that’s a difficult situation. There is always stuff to do in OSRS. Is all of it fun? Depends on what you like. I used to not mind Agility, now I hate it, but it’s useful to train. I’ve realized I love PvM and am working long-term towards end-game bosses, butt combat training gets boring for me after a while of the same thing, so I switch it up and train something else or play something else. Dual monitors helps a lot too for AFK skilling, having something to watch simultaneously is fun to me. Podcasts can fulfill a similar thing, or just vibing to music.
The biggest thing is knowing your limits to prevent boredom or burnout. It’s a gigantic game and a gigantic time sink if you want to make a lot of progress. If you get to mid game and can’t commit to longer grinds, l hate to say the game just might not be for you. But you can get a very good idea of the member experience with 30 days of membership, I think.
Weird. Butt combat never bored me.
I don't play this game and have no idea how I ended up here. But, I know the answer to this one, I think.
I once wanted to live in the desert. I worked for it for a whole year (when such was possible): saving, planning, changing vehicles, then job hunting. I totally got there.
After one week in the desert I decided I fucking hate it. For awhile I thought it was a total fucking loss. But, then I realized that if I'd not gone to the desert I'd never have learned I hated it. I'd still be unhappy and still wanting something that wasn't going to work. I'm glad I went to the desert or I'd never have found my love of the mountains.
If it's not a significant sacrifice to pay for a membership then buy the damned thing. See if it makes you happy. What is it, $10-20 for a month? And, that'd answer a question about happiness you've had for years. Seems cheap.
If that $10-20 is important, PM me. I'll give it to you. Get your answer. I'd consider it money well spent.
Thanks for your answer and offer, and glad you also found love for the mountains! ⛰ I'll give membership a go, as you say it's not that expensive.
How has it been so far? Are you using Runelite client? Makes the game so much better with quality of life
