Starfield DLC: $7 for a single quest that lasts 20 minutes.

Elden Ring DLC: $40 for a whole second fucking game.

is there a Lemmy community for people who actually like Starfield?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago

So we can only speak about starfield if it’s positive?

I thought about making one if there isn't one already. The constant negativity here is really annoying.

i dont get why people are here if they dont like the game

if you make one let me know and I will join, Starfield is one of my favorite games

Lol getting downvoted just for sharing your opinion. It's not one of my favourite games but I do like it and am excited for Shattered Space and for bigger mods to come out. The bones of something decent are there, shame it wasn't more fleshed out before launch.

I'll keep waiting until the game is dirt cheap on GOG.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago

honestly, even then it's not really worth the time IMO

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm waiting till the modders have fixed the more glaring issues, as usual.

I recall reading that the game remains so bad that most modders have simply given up. Skyrim at the same duration after release had ten times more mods than this game currently has at a commensurate duration after release. It's that bad.

They "gave up" mostly because they were mad bethesda hadn't released the CC yet.

I, for one, am absolutely shocked that this boring game did not get better with a shitty dlc.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

the dlc hasnt come out yet

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

There are three new missions. One of them costs $7. That is in fact dlc.

Sure. DLC is downloadable content, usually named that way to denote it didn't come with the base game. Usually it means released by the original vendor, so anything they released counts as DLC, but in practice people generally split it into paid and free dlc.

Paid DLC are often judged as to whether its worth it, and people do get mad if something should be base game and is only available via pay, even if that's something simple like fast travel or something.

Generally, no. When it's content made by the developer I do.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago

Ok fine, it's a paid mod. Still a massive ripoff for such little content.

Starfield needs the No Man's Sky treatment but it's unlikely consumers would hold Todd's feet to the fire if he even mentions Elder Scrolls 6.

Continuously adding fluff to a generic game until people start praising it as the second coming of video-game-christ?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago

Nah. Actually, taking a half baked video game with good bones and making it great. Do you remember the first time you took down a capital ship in your shitty little fighter? I do... Starfield has a lot of good basic systems and a lot of ambitious ideas... it is a platform to build something awesome on if Bethesda is willing to invest a few dozen man-decades into bringing it to fruition.
