Yesterday we voted for 1st round of legislative elections in France. In my voting area the soc dem alliance (Nouveau Front Populaire) largely beat the Rassemblement National (nazi party) who did 14%, and tied the party of Macron at around 37-38%. This is surprising since this is quite a conservative arrondissement of Paris, there even were votes for the socialist labor party (Lutte Ouvrière). Second round will be tough not to concede to Macron's party though if we look at the rest of the votes

Not embarrassing at all. I'd be interested in hearing others' answers. Would you ask this in a post in [email protected]?

you can make a list of your political positions and try to justify them to yourself

Thread on front page of r/soccer rn filled with people malding about UEFA website (correctly) listing a Ukrainian player’s birthplace as Russia cause he was born in Donetsk. good bit

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

Wouldn't the correct way be Ukraine nonetheless? Just like players in the German football team used to have their stated birthplace be the GDR.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

Must be some big conspiracy and UEFA is clearly pro Putler. Or it was just a mistake, given how other Donetsk born players were just listed as Ukrainian.

They changed it to Ukraine on the official UEFA website :/

One thing I like to do when I eat alone is to watch food tours from all over the world, especially on channels like The Food Ranger. It's a nice way to learn about different cultures and in a weird way it makes me emotional. Like, today I watched a video about an Iranian street food tour and everyone in the video is so nice and friendly and smiling and welcoming, which is such a stark contrast with how our media portrays countries like Iran. This whole world view of dehumanizing other countries gets shoved in our faces constantly and it makes me sad that these people can't do anything about it.

everyone in the video is so nice and friendly and smiling and welcoming,

That's because they saw a tourist lol. We try to act very well for guests (part of our culture)

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

I didn't watch the debate, but this is me reading the reactions to it

Completely out of character I will fly for my holiday soon and funny enough I am nervous that the airport will be blocked by climate activists lol. Guess it is easy supporting when you're not the one being targeted normally.

Would that count as a picket line?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

I don´t think so unfortunately

Did reddit disable being able to see comments?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

You're probably talking about r / politics. People say that you need to subscribe to the subreddit to see them.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

And nothing of value was lost...

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Looking through the comments of a major subreddit and knowing that it's mostly just humans losing their shit as opposed to bots is refreshing for a change though.

To each their own. I left Reddit a year ago and have never felt the slightest urge to go back. Just too toxic and lib for me.

I use it as a resource for hobbies and keep a presence to try to help people into the ML funnel.

I heard someone use the term tankie irl for the first time. He was saying how great it is that our organisation can attract a lot of different groups who all bring something to the table, and one of the groups he named were tankies. At least he didn't mean it negatively lol

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

that’s the best way to use the term
