Oooh, apparently the final season of Snowpiercer is going to begin releasing next month! Oh I'm so excited, I was so pissed off with how it was cancelled right on a cliffhanger.

It's one of my favourite shows, probably because

LOL your timing is excellent, I was just about to post a separate comment cause the algorithm dug this up. This is an incredible piece of melbourne history! I had no idea this was a thing. Probably an interesting watch for anyone not into trains as well.

Did I dream frozen baby green beans because I can't find them for like forever? I don't need my beans cut for me, thanks. Maybe they were stunted ordinary beans and I got sucked in.

I bought a puck light from Reject shop for the kids to play with. I thought they'd all be the same but apparently 'you get what you pay for applies here too'.

The button is already busted and hard to press, and the magnet can barely hold the weight of the light itself. That's the sort of thing I assumed would be the same everywhere

I had a bunch of these from Ikea when the kids were little. Very useful when the kids awoke in the middle of the night. They were strategically placed around the house, I remember one being in the kitchen another in the bathroom. One in their room.

They were <$5, used 3x AAA batteries that lasted ages and had great magnets. If you have a real use for them, I recommend the Ikea ones. Of course, the real challenge with Ikea is actually walking in and out and only buying the $5 you went in there for. I've never managed it.

I recently bought a medium size candle from a dollar store, cost $5, it won't burn properly because the wick is too thin for the wide candle. This is a bit of manufacturing cost cutting that is surprising and annoying.

I had a super vivid dream that I was really really high and tripping out. High in both senses because I was laying on the roof of a tall apartment building and it seemed to be bending over to tip me off. I felt the actual fear and that feeling you get of when you're about to fall off something but had to keep trying to tell myself it was in my head but it wasn't working. I was holding on for my life!

there's a road closed off near my house. Its well documented, signs everywhere ect. And the amount of people who drive past 6 or 7 signs only to get to the actual closure and go "Oh. shit. I guess I have to U turn" is crazy! The cops should just stand their and just be taking licenses off these folks cause they are showing 0 situational awareness.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

Ah but the closure MIGHT be further along the road from where they are going - and so they take a chance and lose it.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

The road closure is not in Google Maps. This is the same reason the Montague St bridge keeps getting hit - Google Maps sending people down that road.

I live near one of the railway crossings they turned into an overpass, and the whole time our street was blocked off at the train line people kept doing that. They would drive up to the barrier then get shitty because it was hard to turn around due to parked cars. It’s like they’d read the signs but still think, nah, I’m special, that doesn’t apply to me.

Bad day to be working from home with no heating. Hands and feet are CHILLY.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago

pair of fingerless gloves from reject shop is a game changer! If you have a small room you can close the door on you'd be surprised how fast the computer warms the space up too.

Just say voting in this year's logies is compulsory, who are you voting for to win the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personalty on Australian Television? Nominees are:

β–ͺ︎ Andy Lee
β–ͺ︎ Julia Morris
β–ͺ︎ Larry Emdur
β–ͺ︎ Robert Irwin
β–ͺ︎ Sonia Kruger
β–ͺ︎ Tony Armstrong
β–ͺ︎ Asher Keddie

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Robert Irwin because he seems really authentic.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

I'll just pay the fine and not cast a vote. I would also match the fine amount with a charity donation to make sure Julia Morris doesn't win.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago

I dont know who half these people are, and the other half I dont know what shows they even have on.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Obviously Tony Armstrong. Talented, charismatic, seems to genuinely not be a dick.

But I would never actually vote.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

I like Tony too. He seems real. Not showbiz fake.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Going to go Andy Lee, a favourite of mine.

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

Got my covid booster within six months no questions asked beside my date of birth (I'm 22) and name. Apparently pharmacies don't follow the rules? I'm only allowed to get it every 12 months lol

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

I'm keen to get my booster, but I think the advice is still that people under 18 shouldn't get it unless they have specific health conditions

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago

I had it about a month ago, and the pharmacist told me that it was a good idea to have another one in six months if I was at all high risk or needed to travel, and that some pharmacies were stricter but most aren't.

I don't understand why I still have some residual sniffles... I was like the first one to get sick, and that happened 15 days ago, but was probably infected about 19 or 20 ago

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

My partner and kid both came down with something 2 weeks ago, which started with razor-blade sore throat and sniffles then progressed into a hacking cough. Although they’re both much better now, they’re still coughing and have the sniffles. There’s a few nasty viruses going around atm.

Hope you’re feeling g better soon
