We have a chest press machine at our gym where there's something wrong with the 45 kg plate and it has this weird added friction so hardly anyone uses it. Maybe this 95 one's the same.

What a cool visualization of a mean curve.

Also love the outlier of 100 that you kinda can immediately guess what's happening.

Hey man, what'd that curve ever do to you? Was nice to me!

Made me feel weak! Called me "below average! Can you believe it?!

Nobody needs 95 since they have 100

Is this pounds, grams, or amu's?

Id guess lb. Goes up to 120 which would be a bit heavy for kg but who knows - I have seen machines that go up that high but usually they cap out more like 80kg or so

[–] [email protected] 10 points 5 months ago

Definitely done 120 kg and beyond on pull downs. If you're a heavier dude, that's still easier than chin ups.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 5 months ago (1 children)

120 is nothing for lb so I think this is kg

[–] [email protected] 10 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Yeah maybe you’re right 10lb on a pulldown would be a bit weird wouldn’t it

[–] [email protected] 6 points 5 months ago (1 children)

They even have modular 5lb, they do start this low in my experience

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 months ago

I checked at the gym today, our machine does start at 10lb 🤔

Having a normal one.

surely this distribution should have some skew?

Yeah you can clearly see that 75 is worked a lot less than 20

The drop off from 15 to 10 is very funny psychology

0 needs to be in the middle of the holes tho

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago

m'=m-45. Fixed it for you

Once you can lift over 100, you reach enlightenment and never miss the hole.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago

Can finally hit the hole at 100 but can’t get it up.
