2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

Huge trip down memory lane for me today. The 40+ year-old soap still works well, and the strong alcohol splash just felt great. I had to top it off with the talc that most reminds me of barbershops of the 60s. Very nice shave.

Old soap twins! The one I used is considerably you get than yours, but it's still 5-10 years old, give or take.

Valedictorian + Shire

  • Brush: Dogclaration LG 2022 Mystery Brush (B16)
  • Razor: Mühle R 41 GS
  • Blade: Astra Superior Stainless
  • Lather: Summer Break Soaps Valedictorian
  • Aftershave: House of Mammoth Shire

@[email protected]'s Saturday Shire shave stuck in my mind while I was travelling. Back home, I decided to tweak in into a Valedictorian-Shire shave. These two scents are simply outstanding, I can't seem to tire of them.

The heavy stainless R 41 doesn't come out to play too often anymore, but when it does, it's a great shave.

Valedictorian++;

I admit I'm starting to tire of the WS-23 in every Mammoth aftershave; especially Shire.

Yes! So much this. It's really a pity because the scents are often phenomenal

I've had this soap since almost the beginning (almost 4 years), and it was a PIF from ShavingInCT. He gave it away on r/wicked_edge, of all places.

Anyway, Honeybee Soaps is no longer around. The vetiver in this scent is NOT the dark stanky kind from Haiti, but instead a light and airy type of scent. It's not as interesting as Haitian, but it's very approachable. If an artisan was trying to sell a "safe" vetiver scent, this would be it.

The soap base is surprisingly decent, but I can't find any info online about the ingredients.

Macduff's Mushroom Monday

  • Brush: Chisel & Hound Chocolate Drop 26mm v19 Fanchurian Badger Knot
  • Razor: Karve Shaving Co. Overlander
  • Blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Super Stainless (Green) [3]
  • Lather: MacDuffs Soap Company - Old Strathcona - Soap
  • Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts - Druantia - Aftershave (Alcohol Free)

The earthy mushroom notes in these scents hit just right this morning.
