Here's what I want: To connect an external Nintendo switch to my internal Minecraft server.

My server has Wireguard and Tailscale on it. Issue is, the switch doesn't support any VPN anything. And phone hotspots don't forward a VPN connection. I don't want to use a router, but using a laptop connected to Wireguard may work.

I don't know if this is possible, but could I rent a VPC, and have it forward just Minecraft through?

i.e. switch user connects to "vpc.ip.address:port" and the VPC forwards that to "my.public.ip:port"->"local.ip.server:port"

If so, if there any way to authenticate/restrict this?

Thanks!!

On my phone (Android, LineageOS) there's an option in the hotspot settings to allow clients to use the active VPN.

I don't know your setupand I'm not networking guru, but perhaps you could bridge your wireguard connection with your physical network.

Doing that would mean that whomever you share the wireguard connection with would be able to access your entire network, such as your router.

That could be a bad thing if you have not changed your devices default login credentials.

It is bridged as you described by default. The issue is the switch cannot install a VPN client.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough before. My bad. Your friend needs to do the bridging, or do like you said, rent a vps, put wireguard on it and have your friend connect to the vps. I've never done it, however I've seen people host other services that way when they are stuck behind a CGNAT.

only the pc version allows connecting to non-featured servers, if did try a vpn but it will not dectect.

No, every version of Minecraft except PlayStation allows connecting to external servers.

That's not what the other poster said. He said "Non Featured" servers. You have to do a DNS hack on the switch to connect to a private server.
