Vegan
An online space for the vegans of Lemmy.
Rules and miscellaneous:
- We take for granted that if you engage in this community, you understand that veganism is about the animals. You either are vegan for the animals, or you are not (this is not to say that discussions about climate/environment/health are not allowed, of course)
- No omni/carnist apologists. This is not a place where to ask to be hand-holded into veganims. Omnis coddling/backpatting is not tolerated, nor are /r/DebateAVegan-like threads
- Use content warnings and NSFW tags for triggering content
- Circlejerking belongs to /c/vegancirclejerk
- All posts should abide by Lemmy's Code of Conduct
I always attempt this in every game with animal interactions. There was a really cute minecraft server I was on for a while that provided plant-based alternate recipes for everything. I really like Oxygen Not Included but the nature of the player's relationship with the "critters" grinds on me the whole time.
They're not real animals, so a vegan can ethically complete the entire game without harming a single animal. Stop being weird.
I've given thought to this one as a vegan in the game industry. It's strange. I'm happy to play games like Cyberpunk and murder just about everyone in my way. But when it comes to cozy games, there's something discordant about the "build a happy little farm" vibe and "kill all the fish you want". It just doesn't match the fantasy cottagecore games are selling for me.
Well said!
Stop being an obtuse ass. If literary criticism isn't your thing, find something else to do.
This is about a vegan character, not a vegan player.
