When they start fucking with notifs, I become nervous. I've seen how easily they can f this up. You can't make everyone happy when it comes to to notifs but you can certainly piss off EVERYONE with the wrong choice.

This is a really tiny QoL feature, slow news day? That said I think it's a good idea and I probably wouldn't have known about it otherwise!
I'd prefer that notifications are blocked by default (should be opt-in instead of opt-out). The only apps I NEED notifications for, are messaging apps, everything else is just annoying.
Pretty sure every app has to request notification permission now, so it's pretty easy to opt-out.
Happy to hear that it changed for the better. I'm still on Android 10, where it sadly isn't the default. But thanks for letting me know :)
it is really nice change. I just installed a custom rom with android 14 since my oneplus 6t was stuck with android 11
I'd rather have some control over apps that don't properly separate their useful and spammy notifications.
You can lead a dodgy developer to a proper API spec but you can't make them use it. I think the only control we have in that situation is the Uninstall button!
I really wish there was a easy way to move the notification settings between phones. Always having to manually restore my settings is a chore.
How often do you change phones to make this "always" a problem? I've had my S10+ for 5 years and I can't see myself changing it anytime soon
If you do custom ROMs you know
So you meant installations not phones in your original comment?
Unless you use a different phone every time you try something new
It doesn't matter, it always wipes everything
