Can we shift back to the C&C/RA1 paradigm? I liked that one.

Or perhaps Warcraft 2. That had some great flavor.

I played WC2 back in the day but I never liked it as much as C&C. The whole food mechanic was too much for my liking.

Just give me WC3 with a higher food cap, please. Plus open modding tools that let people create entirely new games, and even import custom models. I still fondly remember playing so many custom games. Especially this one DBZ one with custom models and sound clips.

Just remake generals please!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

Wasn't my favourite but it was neat. I wouldn't say no to a remake. :)

Yeah. Must try out the remaster!

I like the RTS genre for one reason and one reason only.

The Zerg are sexy.

Well yeah, obviously, but personally I'm just as turned on by the drones, zerglings, etc.

To each their own. But I only serve the Queen of Blades.

What's the insect equivalent of a furry? Swarmies?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

Maybe, but I'm actually dronegender.

Tencent studio

Aaaannd pass.

Never thought the body of an article would make me stop reading in literally the first two words before and lose all interest in the content, yet here we are...

Maybe Stormgate will be better?

Even though Riot Games/Tencent are an investor in Frost Giant. At least they're not straight up owned by them... I guess time will tell?

Ya, their monetization practices are fucking wild. League is still a great game in itself, so there's hope we will see another good RTS. Tencent also owns Path of Exile as well, so here's hoping!

Dang, rip PoE... I was really looking forward to PoE2 too.

Not excited for tencent, but the idea of an rts that de-emphasizes APM sounds really intriguing to me.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

I'd argue that's what Cannon Brawl and Tooth and Tail already did.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 months ago (1 children)

That's AoE4 already if you ask me

[–] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

AoE4 feels like a game from 2000 though.

Age of Empires 2 is heading that direction right now. Patch after patch. Also one of the few games where the APM isn't the deciding factor even at the top.
