The lawnmower scene in Dead Alive?

Everything in Dead Alive! One of my favorites

Does Michael Jackson's Thriller MV count as a zombie moment?

Okay, then that's one of favorite zombie moments.

Zombie baby in Dawn of the Dead remake.

28 Days Later when Jim appears absolutely unhinged after killing the captors.

Walking Dead with the barn.

What If...? the moment they realize Vision's intentions.

Planet Terror, the immediate aftermath of the "lost footage" when everything goes to shit.

Zombieland, BM's regrets.

Shaun of the Dead, Dianne unsuccessfully fighting the zombie horde.

In my opinion, nothing will beat the OG scene where the black hero in NotLD is killed by the white “rescuers.” I never got to meet Romero himself, but everything about that first movie was just brilliant.

I think the Dawn of the Dead remake was more fun than the original (the only remake with that distinction), but it somehow missed the mark on the cultural critique that the original had. The opening sequence with Johnny Cash was among the best opens ever shot, though.

Similarly, I think the opening - basically the first episode - of The Walking Dead was brilliant in an anti-Oz, anti-Willy Wonka kind of world transformation kind of intro to the series. It added a flavor of magical realism to the world/series that equaled if not surpassed 28 Days (if only because, as a series, they’d have more time to establish everything).

When we saw NotLD in our teens on VHS we loved it. And the ending left us baffled and shocked! He made it! He survived! Just to get shot when he opens the door and the hunters think he's a zombie. And then the credits start rolling.

One of the greatest WTF moments for us ever! Never forgot it!

First episode of the Walking Dead is one of my favorite tv episodes ever.

Do Deadites count (not trying to start a fan war here lol)? Because I could throw just about anything from The Evil Dead in here

Not sure. Are they like zombies?

  • The zombie slowly pulling the woman’s eye into the splinter in Zombi 2
  • The zombie wrestling the shark in Zombi 2
  • The priest karate chopping zombies in Braindead
  • Bub learning to use a gun in Day of the Dead
  • The zombies using the police radio to call for backups and paramedics in Return of the Living Dead
  • The train station zombie hoard in Train to Busan
  • The large zombie sheep attack from Black Sheep

  1. Every scene with Bub in the original Day of the Dead
  2. Also in DotD: the kill scene near the end where someone's head is being torn off while screaming, and their pitch is going higher and higher.

In no particular order:

  1. The zombie baby from Dawn of the Dead.
  2. The zombie Wanda Maximoff from Marvel's "What If...Zombies!" (All of them are pretty awesome, though. They still have their powers even as zombies)
  3. The ending of Shaun of the Dead where the zombies are given menial jobs.

Zombie baby!? I don’t remember seeing that part, but I saw the two zombie kids instead.

In the remake. Not the original.

Ah thanks for clarifying. The original Dawn of the Dead is my favorite zombie movie of all time, but I haven't seen any of the early 2000s remakes.
