I've been zwifting exclusively on Linux for a few years now with this: https://github.com/netbrain/zwift
It's pretty distro agnostic. I'm using it with Podman on RHEL 9.
Still requires you to use the companion app on your phone for your Bluetooth connections, but it beats keeping a Windows machine around. Good luck!
Thanks. The Companion app never seemed to work on my sandboxed Google Play profile on GrapheneOS however. I've since found Golden Cheetah which is a native Linux program and totally free. Zwift raising their price was the final straw for me to move on and I'm grateful for it.
GC works perfectly on Linux Mint with my Garmin USB ANT+ dongle, Garmin heart rate strap, and retains all the functionality with my Zwift Hub trainer if anyone is curious.
I have been struggling with this too. solution has been running it on my phone for now and looking into dedicated hardware. I've come across a few other options (MyWoosh) recently but nothing native to linux.
Is there anything in particular that stands out to you about MyWoosh? I'll probably try the Android app option for now
It's completely free is the big draw, but it's not as popular still I ended up back on zwift
It looks like Zwift has an android app. Have you tried installing that via Waydroid?
What's Waydroid? I suppose I could try running it on a dedicated profile. I've tried updating my Zwift HUB firmware via the app (as it's the only way) and it doesn't work anymore, even if I install sandboxed Google Play.
Waydroid is containerized Android emulation. Should be available via most package managers.
