I'm trying out the game. Honestly, a simple tutorial / intro would go a long way towards flattening out the initial difficulty curve. Having to go into a wiki to learn the basic concepts of wands and spells is not my idea of a good time.

Can anyone recommend a good tutorial video that explains how to play well, without it being overwhelming? I really enjoy this game. However, 50 hrs in and I still feel like I don't know how to play, lol.

I've looked at videos in the past, but it felt like an organic chemistry class. Also, watching others' gameplay didn't help much, because the players were too fast in crafting their wands, etc.

That said, great game.

Noita is way too hard for me. I finally managed to beat the "tutorial" and that was good enough for me.

I was hyped for the game. Bought it. And was severely disappointed.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. It can be a rough game to start out with because the difficulty can seem insurmountable. I would recommend looking at some guides and at least at first use the mod that allows you to edit your wand anywhere.

Can you elaborate. 2 of my friends both love this game. Just curious what left you feeling underwhelmed

Sure! Every pixel is simulated sounds neato! It doesn’t feel dynamic. The randomness is too random I guess and you can have a great run or die before the first door all depending on what wands you get. And it just repeats.

The person below said read guides and stuff, and to me that’s a poorly designed game if I have to educate myself on it before getting to enjoy it.

Of course I bought it early access and haven’t been back, but it sounds like it’s some people’s cuppa tea.

Yeah where's the fun in figuring anything out? The game didn't tell me press A to jump so I guess there's no logical way to come to that conclusion

Thanks! I forgot there’s only one way to have fun.

I mean it’s cool to not like that in a game. But i think your mind set is weird. The game seems more random than it actually is, even considering the vast differences and power of the spells. If you watch people who play the game a lot you will notice that they will usually win, and when they get noita’ed it’s usually due to a mistake. The game play is learning to understand the rules of the game how it ticks. You CAN learn it via videos that will tell you all the minnute mechanics, but i would say that cheapening the exploration it’s going for.

It would be like looking up the percentage chance of every outcome for every event in FTL, and using only the meta builds and their meta strats

But i don’t blame you for not liking it as the floor is really high.

Thanks for sharing your opinion! I think a lot of people enjoy digging into a game via guides and wikis to learn how to min-max. I think I'm one of those people so I would probably enjoy that aspect it.

I think (without having played more than 1 run) that a lot of where improvements come from in skill is consistency, and that's something I enjoyed a lot is learning slay the spire (making most runs at least somewhat viable).

All that said, it's a game and you should obviously enjoy yourself playing a game, or leisure time in general :P A shame it didn't land for you though

It also may be there’s no compelling story. Like Hades is great and has the same rouge like progression but each run adds story and depth. The voice acting is fantastic and the art is well done.

I loved the voice actors and the visuals of hades but I actually couldn't really get into it much. The gameplay just didn't quite work for me lol. Different strokes for different folks I guess
