If anything Russia is testing DPRK’s weapons against American/NATO tactics and weapons of war. The DPRK is dedicated to peace above all else and would much rather spend their meager resources on feeding, housing and giving leisure and comfort to the Korean workers. The Korean People’s Armed Forces are 100% dedicated to just two objectives.

Objective 1. Self defense against the US, Japan and any other Western nation (I don’t care if Japan is ethnically East Asian, they’re Western at this point) and any other threat to their homeland.

Objective 2. The defense from takeover by the puppet regime in the fictitious “South Korea” and when the time is right, the liberation of all of Korea, and to move the historical capital of the Unified People’s Republic of Korea from Pyongyang to its proper home to Seoul (or Kim Il Sung City).

The DPRK is one of the few nations on earth with a military of their size that has ZERO interest in conquering even the tiniest speck of dust outside of their nation, especially since the express purpose of jucheism is communism in one nation with the goal of stage 3, the elimination of Korean nationalism (even if by force) and borders to join the international community in the worldwide international worker’s state. Even if this process will have to be over a span of centuries.

I hope I'm not saying anything wrong, but my best friend is South Korean and was two years on their army.

He said North Korea wants peace and it's always south Korea who makes problems.

He said also until around two decades ago south Korean president was interested in peace, but the ones after him not

The “South Korean” state is an American puppet government, and constantly causing all the trouble. During the famines in the 90s, the DPRK wanted, as an act of mercy to hand over the handful of foreign refugees in their nation given that they weren’t sure they could guarantee they be fed and Seoul refused because they knew what good headlines it would be if an America/European refugee in the DPRK starved to death even though the West themselves treat their refugees like garbage.

Yeeeeaaah that shit sounds like a whole lot of projection.

sprawling US Army Garrison Humphreys

First: screw this style of journalist writing. Second: who tf hears "sprawling foreign army garrison" and thinks "Oh yes it's great and totally not weird"?

The US will be deploying missile systems with mid-range capability to the Indo-Pacific region soon,

Toldja, projection.

The North Korean missiles sent so far are similar in size and flight dynamics to Russia’s Iskander series, weapons experts have said

Could it be that gasp those WERE iskander missiles?! Nah, can't be. Must be perfidious Axis of Evil somehow making their weapon systems more interchangeable and easier to mix than the vaunted NATO "standardisation".

showed that the US Patriot air defense system has so far been largely effective in countering Russia’s missiles

"The enemy is both weak and strong", etc. If your "patriot" system is soo good and effective, why are you afraid? Surely they'd just shoot down whatever inferior garage junk them orcs cobbled together from pipes and houseware chips?

sending massive amounts of munitions to Russia, which are interoperable with the Soviet-era systems being used in Ukraine.

See my earlier point. There hasn't been a soviet union for over thirty years. Iskander system was developed after USSR was destroyed. The fuck kinda "interoperability" you are babbling about? Heck, if they said it was magically interoperable with the Tochka-U system, I still would call bs, but would at least have an area of plausibility. Heck, they could have even done some further smearing and claim that was the missile used to strike the market in Donetsk - since that one was a Tochka-U, and was blamed on Russia (despite, ya know, all the evidence).

Garbage article. You should feel bad for hurting my eyes with it, Yogthos

I find these articles mostly amusing because they expose how worried the empire is. Most of western media is painful to read because any actual news is buried in layers of propaganda.

Maybe they are talking about shells here?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Sure, could be. Except the article is specifically talking about ballistic missiles. And again - are we supposed to believe that shells, made in DPRK nowadays are compatible with the guns and launchers used by Russia? Solely because they're based off of the same soviet mould?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

My layman ass is imagining that if the shells are of the same calibre, it should work out.

You could maybe have a situation where the DPRK is sending old soviet shells to the Russians who are then using old soviet surplus artillery to fire them.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

My layman ass is imagining that if the shells are of the same calibre, it should work out.

See, my layman ass thought much the same, but then AFU began reporting issues with using nato shells with nato guns, despite calibre being standardised.

DPRK is sending old soviet shells to the Russians who are then using old soviet surplus artillery to fire them

This I would be more inclined to believe. However this implies:

  1. That DPRK is confident enough in their ability to either replenish their stocks or obtain new weapons quick enough so as it doesn't become a problem

  2. That Russian military has either ran out of their own soviet made shells or can't replenish them quick enough (the latter I could believe tbh, given how much damage has been and is still being done to our industrial capacity)

  3. Those shells and weapons, despite being 30+ years old, are still not only functional, but quite effective

There are just so many factors here that if it somehow turns out to be true, I'll have no choice but to eat my hat. Because boi!

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago

I think explanations do exist for point 1 and 3. The DPRK has quite strong military production. It wouldn't surprise me if they think sending over military surplus they don't need right now (the US is tied up) in exchange for oil is worthwhile. As for the 30+ year old weapons, even old societ tanks, when well maintained could be used on the battlefield. I imagine that the DPRK of all countries would have the incentive to maintain their shells in good condition

Commie weapons and Nazis. Together once again in harmony.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (2 children)

What is this even about? Did Nazis use Soviet made weaponry? Not a military buff by any stretch of imagination so genuine question.

If anything I heard this story that USSR used Nazi weapons in Katyn, either to incriminate Nazis or because those weapons had lower kickback so allowed executioners to work long hours without dislocating their shoulders, both explanations seem silly but whatever.

So if you wrote Nazi weapons and Commies together again, at least I'd know what you're on about. Wouldn't make much difference to your comment since you seem to equate them anyway.

Sorry comrade, I changed my down to up when Pili explained your comment... Maybe I should log off for a bit, seeing ghosts of liberals everywhere.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago

No worries at all. Honestly though it's not the first time it's happened, so I think it's something I need to fix in my style. I'm just sorry I pissed people off, if only for a moment.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (3 children)

Maybe he clumsily wanted to say "commie weapons used against Nazis"? That's how I understood it, it would make more sense I think.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Thank you! I thought I was amongst comrades here. Though I understand we've seen it all at this point and people can believe all kinds of crazy shit.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

Yeah I think we tend to be too quick to jump to the wrong interpretation when reading comments that could be a little ambiguous, that's a side effect of the liberals coming here to troll I think. We should get into the habit of giving the benefit of the doubt to our comrades here.

We should also be careful to formulate ourselves in a way to dissipate this kind of confusion, maybe saying "commie weapons and Nazi targets" would have been clearer?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago

Agreed yes. In general I think the sarcastic sense of humour is infectious and I plan to tone it down.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago

Getting so used to the putler narrative seem to see it everywhere. Definitely makes sense now, thank you comrade.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago

That's how I understood it too.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

👆 how to out yourself as an imbecile

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Hm. I meant Nazis being slaughtered by Communists. I didn't think this needed any clarification. Maybe I need to work on my brand...

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

oof sorry, I guess we all read it wrong, too many lib interactions I guess

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

No I get it was unclear. Sorry for the friendly fire on the mood. Now let's get on with it comrade. Love your work.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

thanks, and sorry again for the overreaction on my part :)
