I have never watched the movie Wall-E

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

You should. It's pretty good

Last night I got overheated so I've taken the doona out of the cover and I have:

  • Top sheet and doona cover only to provide just enough warmth
  • the doona itself covering my feet which I can pull up during the night if I get cold.

For anyone that is contemplating surgical treatment for spinal pain or knows any friends or family in the situation, last nights four corners is a must watch.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Doctors are not gods and all advice should be treated with skepticism, especially when a lot of money is going to be made and ESPECIALLY when your spine is involved.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

especially!!

That's why I'm so careful, I let practically no one touch me other than doctors .

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Plenty of doctors I wouldn't trust either tbh.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

true that

The best advice I've had, from neurosurgeons, I still follow, which was "rest", stay in bed

unfortunately I didn't have a long enough consultation to learn how to avoid back pain

that I had to find myself by noting patterns of my behaviour

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

I have never considered it

Got offered a steroid epidural. Chose not to in the end, was mostly better by that point.

Fully agree. The digest on the abc justin news is a good foretaste. link

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

That was a heartbreaking read.

My property manager went to the house next door, thinking it was mine, did an inspection then sent me an email saying everything is fine.

I had to message her and insist that she hadn't come to my house....

How do these people have jobs?

In other news a recruiter messaged me today. We have a meeting tomorrow 🀞🏾

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Good luck with the meeting! Yes it's rather shocking to think about who gets jobs out there... although REAs generally shouldn't be in the same category as jobs which are generally required to be useful to society

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Thanks! Hopefully recruitment starts picking up.

She was driving a brand new Merc. I was honestly blown away.

Either mummy and daddy paid for the car or like most shysters, it's leased or heavily financed. I had a REA who was a relative overseas. It's all for show..

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Ha ha ha... Was it even a rental?...

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

It was. From a private landlord 🀣

If I'm awake I'll do it. If not, I can't help that. I answered in the wrong spot @[email protected].

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

Cool. I'll be asleep tonight, so if you fall asleep, it's anyone's!

2nd day in a row going into the office and I'm in again tomorrow too. I'm giving a demo of what I've been working on to a bunch of state government department CIOs.

Maybe I should just go in every day this week for a laugh.

Took myself out for dinner in Chinatown as part of some self care. It was loud, they took a long time to bring out my food and the internet was barely functional. On a tram heading home now. I did also stop at Breadtop which is also self care don't judge me.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

Breadtop 🀀

[–] [email protected] 9 points 7 months ago (5 children)

I have turned on the ducted heating.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I will make a project of trying to survive until May without touching the heater 😀

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

I used to be like that, but as I've gotten older I've realised that I would much rather be comfortable. Still, May is only a couple of weeks away ... Next week will be drier I understand, so not so chilly I hope.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Really? I must be a fucking furnace because I've got all my windows open.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

I'm wearing a singlet and shorts and am pretty warm

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

Had air con on at 5pm lol

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

I turned on the split system for the cats.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

curry hot, I need no other heating

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

I'm holding out out of stubbornness for now. The electric throw blanket is out though.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

okay, a big bag of clothes for the opshop, and two pairs of shoes that I just can't wear when I have a bad back. Those boots are cute but just too high .
