I really like Danny Ric (who doesn't), but I want to see Liam Lawson get a real shot at a drive.

One of the stories this year is Yuki's clear improvement and you're treating him like a benchmark.

While true, races give points.

Bahrain Yuki P14 Ric P13 Saudi Yuki P14 Ric P16 Australia Yuki P7 Ric P12

Avg 2 positions better for Yuki

Vs

Bahrain Yuki P11 de Vries P14 Saudi Yuki P11 de Vries P14 Australia Yuki P10 de Vries DNF (let’s go with P12 for the comparison, but likely worse)

Avg 3 positions better for Yuki.

So Danny is struggling, but still getter better results than Nyck.

How did you count? I feel stupid, because I can't get the same averages. But I wanted to point out that:

Bahrain Yuki P14 Ric P13

Is not fair to take into consideration. Ricciardo finished ahead because of a team order, not because he was faster.

Someone make that team order make sense

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Ricciardo is a spent force and I no longer think he deserves to be on the grid.

It would be really interesting to see how Ricciardo would drive his prime cars nowadays. Is he still quick in the 2013-17 Red Bull cars? Then it's probably down to how different nowadays cars are. Or is he noticeably slower even in those? Then it's him being past his prime.

Same average, but de Vries was improving while Ricciardo is falling behind

Yeah a mean average here is very much not telling the whole story!
