Heck yes! They’re the cutest boycott cookies ever. I can’t wait to make these, thank you for sharing the recipe. :)

No worries 😊 i hope they work for you too!
Crap. I don't know if I can boycott Oreos. Are they part of P2025? :(
I'm doing a full boycott of all American or American owned Mega corps. Pride themed cookies isn't enough for me, I want to a fair pay structure at all levels of their supply chain, more accountability on their environmental impacts, and a stance against facisim. Until then, I'll just buy as local as I can and bake my own 🫤
Not a bad idea. I wonder how hard that would be to do in the US. You in the US?
I live in Aotearoa New Zealand so we are lucky enough to still have a lot of local owned brands and i live rural so I have neighbours farmstalls and my own produce options.
That sounds nice. I looked into moving there. It appears to be beyond my means.
Not easy outside of high-skills or wealth.
I am highly skilled, but have 3 dependants. Also some dogs. It would be so so hard. I've looked into the various paths to entry, none of them easy.
Have you looked at the green list jobs? A lot of companies pay for your move and with an offer dependents isn't a problem. Pets can be tricky though. Definitely not easy!
I will now! Thanks 💛
Hell yeah
Idk but they are a part of a big food conglomerate
You should cease eating them over their inclusion of GMO ingredients alone, but that is just my opinion.
and even if you don't think GMOs are an issue, Oreos are made with palm oil linked to rainforest destruction and human rights abuses.
There is no ethical consumption, but I don't think I can convince my wife to give up Oreos... Hmm.
I'd better not risk it.
sure, but there's more or less unethical consumption - I think it's good to be aware that as a single consumer your impact is minimal (read: irrelevant), but participating in collective action like a boycott can and does drive change
to that end, engage with those collective actions and don't fret too much about "ethical consumption" - this is just one tool among many (i.e. not eating Oreos isn't about being ethical or a good person, it's about participating in a coordinated boycott and achieving certain political ends)
Yeah I use goods unite us and that spreadsheet that lists anti-dei corpos, I haven't given up, just bemoaning that the arc of time doesn't bend quickly enough towards justice.
