Captured image from the video shows that the hood of the engine compartment had been warped. This means there had been an explosion :

Finger crossed

I'm amazed no one has pointed out the possibility that this was staged by Putin himself as a prerequisite to enforce greater surveillance, military and police presence, claim opposition and Ukraine to be terrorists, and so on. This is, besides a malfunction, much more likely than a failed assassination attempt that went this badly, doesn't have a suspect, and got reported on.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 2 weeks ago

bro why do you think he started the war

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Not a failed assassination, but a warning maybe? His health issues have been in the news lately, his "special operation" is wayyyy over-budget... someone's making him look more vulnerable. Who though??? That's my dumb conspiracy; he's losing power and someone's been waiting to fill that vacuum. Corporate-takeover style? Idk, I'm just riffing

Why would he need a reason though? Couldn’t he just do that at any time?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

it's easier if there's plausible deniability.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

Maybe. I don’t know what it’s like in Russia at all.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago

He absolutely could

We can rule out a Ukrainian assassination attempt. They have a pretty good track record of success.

We'll know if it's a false flag if Putin immediately freaks out and increases his personal security or suddenly relocates to one of his bitch bunkers.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They have a pretty good track record of success.

I mean, it wouldn't do to advertise failed attempts. And honestly, even if this was a failed Ukrainian assassination attempt, the fact that they legit blew putin's limo up is kind of huge.

Honestly I though putin already spent 90% of his time in a bitch bunker. Ukraine has already demonstrated the capability of striking Moscow and beyond, long ago, several times over.

"I'm not a fan of his politics or anything, but there's no excuse for attacking other people's property." - US conservative "opinion"

Sounds more like a centrist to me.

It's still not on the BBC 12 hours on, and I don't know the website, so this is fake, unfortunately.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Lol. It's not on my local government rhetoric machine and therefore I do not implicitly believe this

There’s a high chance that the car is just shit… would be nice if it was an actual assassination attempt but honestly who knows.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 weeks ago

It's an Aurus, a Russian luxury brand. Knowing Russian automotive engineering, I'm sure the only part that works properly is the engine, which was developed with help from Porsche.

"The attack on my life has left me scarred" 🤣

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 weeks ago

Damn so close. I’m sure there’s plenty of Russian civilians who have lost their sons who want to see that man dead

[–] [email protected] 28 points 2 weeks ago

What kind of low rent dictator has to park on the street?

[–] [email protected] 33 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

If he wasn't in it then I don't care

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

could’ve been a message more than an attack

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

"We've been trying to contact you about your car's extended warranty"

Now they're getting it - blow up putin - end of war and Ukraine prevails. Also, trump and his entire criminal organization no longer have the backing and deviousness of putin and fail. America wins. The world wins.

Let's not miss next time, okay?

[–] [email protected] 25 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Of course, considering he's a paranoid former KGB agent who won't even sit at a normal table with his closest advisors, it would not exactly be trivial to drop him.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Eh. Regardless of how careful he is, he's still just a man. If it's a coup from within the security he has means nothing, and they will also know where he is at a given time.

Blowing up Putin would be nice but it’s not a guarantee the war would end. It would lead to a power struggle in the Kremlin, no doubt, but there are loads of hawks in that regime and many are much more extreme than even Putin.

Of course, a more extreme war hawk might end up benefitting Ukraine by hastening the collapse of Russia. Or it might lead to nuclear war. It’s really hard to predict exactly what will happen.
