Picard has so many. The one I always come back to for some reason is the one he gives while looking down on Mintaka III in Who Watches the Watchers. Although it takes a few more events to finally convince Nuria of his points, that first one and especially his quiet answer to her speculating that perhaps one day they would fly above the clouds too always gets me. That is what all good Trek first contact type stories are about, lifting others to the same level (when they're ready). It's also why the first Strange New Worlds episode is still my favorite. That's a great speech too, by the way.
Star Trek
Welcome to a Star Trek community where you’re free to chat and share your opinions about all things Trek!
I want to have a place where fans can come to praise, discuss, and even criticise things in the Star Trek franchise. No show or movie is perfect, and I don't believe people should be silenced for having a dissenting opinion. That being said, there are still a few rules.
Be Nice - No personal attacks. You can disagree with someone's opinion, but it needs to stop there.
No Slurs - This is applicable to ethnicity, religion, gender, or anything else.
No Adult Content - Keep it family friendly.
No Spamming or Trolling - Consistently spamming comments or trolling is just not needed.
Please keep topics Trek related or Trek adjacent for the most part, and have fun!
I do like that type of story, and the speeches in both of those episodes were good!
We are assembled here today to pay final respects to our honoured dead. And yet it should be noted that in the midst of our sorrow, this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world, a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel that sacrifice a vain or empty one... and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this. Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, ...his was the most ...human.
Shatner did a great job with this one! It's still sad, even when you've seen the later movies.
I was already really enjoying DS9 by the end of the first season, but this episode went a long way to cementing it as my favorite series! One of my favorite Star Trek episodes too. They got an amazing actor for the part.
So many good ones from Picard. From yelling at Starfleet Cadets about what it means to wear the Starfleet uniform when they were in a trial trying to figure out the cause of an accident due to performing a banned stunt, to defending Data's rights as a sentient being. I can't even choose any one specific monologue, because every monologue given by Picard is just muah! 🤌
He certainly could do a good monologue! Even in the Picard series he did good in the interview on the first episode.
Star Trek II: Khaaaaaaaaaan!

Quark the cost of peace
Another good one! There were a lot of good ones on DS9.
Vulcan: Do you propose to lecture me on logic? Quark: sigh I don't want to but you leave me no choice.
SNW:
1.) Pilot episode, Pike warning the aliens about war while offering a great alternative.
2.) Ad astra per aspera: The main speech sent shivers down my spine.
Those are both good ones! I didn't want to make my list too long, otherwise I would have probably put Ad Astra Per Aspera on there.
