Hi. I'm a dude who could take on this task as a spare if needed. (Although there are probably others who are more deserving)

Relevant characteristics:

  • superadmin for a game with 50k active users daily. Both forum and ingame.
  • I'm an old fart, so I have plenty of experience running IRC channels and servers. I like to think that's relevant.
  • No HR cases with my name on them.
  • Fond of chitchat about nothing and everything.
  • I try to retain a politically neutral stance, despite being far from neutral in my political leanings. I'm aware of my biases, and try not to let them affect my decision making.
  • UTC+1

Hi. I’m a casual Lemmy user, and currently serve as a mod for a few sports-based communities:

[email protected]

[email protected]

[email protected]

None of those require much work, thankfully.

Happy to help out over here, as well. This is one of my favorite Lemmy communities, and appreciate the discussion that takes place here.

Thanks, it's always nice to hear. If you were a mod, what would be the preferred way to refer to you (some ways of reference are more casual than others)? Also, what is your nationality (note this question often helps with timing/linguistics)?

I just want to make sure I understand, you mean what can you call me? I’m happy to provide my real first name. That’s probably simplest.

If you mean how can you contact me, I respond quickly to messages and mentions. But can also give my email or join a preferred chat group.

And as for nationality, I’m based in the US, on the east coast.

That, yes. Or something else, if you want to go by something else. For example, my screen name says to call me Leni, it's short for my full name.

That’s fair. People IRL call me Rob.

Thank you for volunteering! We'll discuss and let you know in the coming days

Sounds good. And no hard feelings if you decide to go in another direction!

Do you have to have any technical knowledge to mod?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

As in software? Nope, just a dedication to keeping the community together.

Thank you for the post!

Adding some details in case people are wondering: the workload is quite low, most of the community is polite and respectful. There are a few reports from time to time, you can have a look at the modlog to see the frequency
