Google: We need to listen to your phone calls Us: Why? Google: Oh er, nothing maliciousโฆ๐โฆ
Voice call narrator - the prequel.
My Pixel can't even merge calls or tell me that the person I'm ringing is on the phone, but they wanna add this shit?
Seems they need to gather people reactions and emotions information
No! God, no, why? No!
that sounds just terrible. can we please have a functional voice assistant again?
this is what open source dialer app died for?
Use the Phone app from Lineage os
Yes, and there are probably other FOSS applications for that as well.
But it is a bit sad to see that Google considers the "phone" part of the "smartphone" be so obscure functionality that they left it's development to community.
Maybe I should stop living in the past and just accept that the glowing rectangle that we carry around is actually a tiktok machine that can occasionally do some other stuff as well.
How about they focus on making sure pixels can receive calls without needing to be rebooted every fucking day.
Google has abandoned the pixel as a phone, just like all their other projects. It's a device for collecting data
Why?
Must be running low on projects to shutdown.
Google Phone team is working on a new feature that will make talking a lot more fun with your friends and family. Imagine saying something funny to your friend with a drumroll sound effect in the background, or expressing love and anger using screen effects with sounds.
plz no
This is going to be really funny. I'll be discussing a shooting and we just hear active conflict sounds.
Holy fuck lol, phone calls are going to start sounding just like those huge copypasta bricks with emojis every 2-3 words
"You know what I need when I call my parents? A laugh track" - said no one ever
I can see a lot of people using the drumroll thing, and that's going to let it in the door for so much crap.
It's one of those things that you can see slowly coming from a mile away, but there's not a damn thing you can do to stop it.
A future of metal pipe sounds as far as the ears can bleed.
Yo this sucks I just want the phone to make calls and not listen to my conversations for cues to do any goddamn thing
