My haul of little tomatoes from the community garden to spice up my sandwiches.

I'm going to Aldi. What coffee beans should I get for my plunger?

If it helps I like strong cappuccinos and I use the #13 calabrese pods for my Aldi pod machine because the #14 intensio is disgusting.

I ended up with this because there was not much choice.

I guess it depends on what you like, I do like smooth and fruity blends but sometimes a dark one isn't too bad either.

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

The only ones I've tried are the Lazzio Medium beans in the white bag and they are excellent. I can't speak to the fancier looking ones. I should do a trip and pick up a fresh bag actually. I also prefer my coffee a bit stronger and the medium hits just right for me.

Any of the South American ones. Brazil, Colombia or the special blend. Essentially any of the 1 kg bean bags are good value for money, not the dark roasts though.

Thanks for all the congratulations on the unit acquisition yesterday. I'm still settling into believing it's real, especially after two let-downs.
It's going to be strange not obsessively checking the real estate sites and doing the rounds of the OFIs every Saturday.
Now to continue with Operation Sort Shit and decide what to take and what to dispose of.

A temporary storage space like Storage King is your friend here I reckon. I found when I moved, that I just put everything I wasn't sure about in that space, and only put stuff in the new place that I KNEW I wanted there. The doubtfuls were sorted later and a lot went to next generation family and to charity etc as I just didn't have room for them in the new house. Ended up with the new place having ONLY stuff I wanted to keep. This really really helped my decision making on the other stuff. It also helped that the storage space was just up the road from a Vinnies which dramatically eased the actual disposal. Worth considering as a tactic.

My neighbour, the Sax Man, is practicing, and another neighbour is watching The Office.

Such a strange mix of sounds lol

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

woke up with the opening theme of To Kill a Mockingbird in my head

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t98LWNwUhI

this is the first movie music I remember and remember loving

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Idk why, but I always confuse To Kill a Mockingbird with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

The theme song for TKaM is iconic imo

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I always confuse those two as well ๐Ÿ˜‚

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

I actually had to google it before making my comment haha

Off 'sick' today. I've earned it damnit.

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago

love a soul day

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago

That's what those sick days are for!

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I wanted to today as well but the work would only pile up for me the next day which is even a busier day.

I really hate that I feel I can't be off sick because of that.

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

That's the reason I've taken like 5 sick days in 9 years and am drowning in excess annual leave.

Every day off I take results in about 1.2 days of extra work I need to catch up on when I get back ๐Ÿซค

At least I'm very often solo in the office so my presenteeism doesn't get others sick.

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago

Yeah, this year the way things have fallen, my monday and tuesdays are loaded and if I'm not there the work just piles up.

The person I work with, while our roles differs, just leaves the massive backlog for me to maintain and this places so much pressure on me if I take the day off when I have a scheduled workload.

[โ€“] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

I should have done the same. Iโ€™m standing on the corner of Struggle Street and the Boulevard of Broken Dreams

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago (1 children)

At home with allergies. Partial fib.

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago (2 children)

I don't think I've suffered from hayfever this late in the season. Generally a spring thing and gone by Dec/Jan....It's friggin March and I'm still dealing with it

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago

Itโ€™s the bloody smoke right now. Have taped all the doors etc up but my eyes hurt and am a sneeze monster. I could go in, but the walk to the bus would be vile.

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago

Same! I haven't sneezed so much this time of year

[โ€“] [email protected] 8 points 8 months ago

Official first day of term for my Uni courses today. Time to knuckle down and get back into the studying.

Listed some old PC parts on Gumtree, the first five minutes I get the standard "I want to purchase give me your email so I can send you a phishing link" quickly followed by an account called "support" with the gumtree logo telling me I had a pending offer and to just provide my email.

This was then followed up with a second "support" account trying a different scam, and one person doing the "I will send a courier" bit.

Gumtree is so shit.
