"All of the sudden the only grain-fed beef on earth that China can buy is from Australia — so it's not bad news [for Australia's cattle industry]," he said.

That surprised me. There are lots of other large beef producers in the world. So I went looking. Canada got blocked in 2021 for possible BSE (mad cow) detection. And less than 2 weeks ago China suspended imports from the large beef companies in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Mongolia. Now this possible ban on lots of US beef.

What is going on in China beef right now?

There is an oversupply and China is reducing imports to protect their own industry:

It's also a great way to mess with Trump (and other conservative governments worldwide) as farmers are some of their most loyal supporters. And since the Trump gov won't do much against H5N1, it's also a great way to protect yourself.

This is good info. OPs article doesn't mention this at all, and would suggest Aussie beef suppliers won't benefit as their article suggests. With your info, I'd expect import restrictions on Aussie beef into China in the weeks ahead too.
