Sometimes native English speakers are less fluent than second-hand speakers of English
There is a shockingly high number of Americans whose first language is English but cannot read or write.
Yeah something like >50% of adults read at less than a 6th grade level.
It's part of why a lot of news articles are dumbed down so these people can comprehend them.
