Plenty of places had no measurable rainfall.
NYC water supply is an hour north in Westchester and 2 hours north in the Catskills. They don't drink ground water from their locale.

I think Philadelphia is in the middle of a notably long time (possibly a record) without rain, too.
I get the impression people tend to underestimate just how bad climate change is going to be for the global north in the coming years.
