Gets caught being racist in the past

People in turn thought it was the official discord server and that Xananax an official member, and started harassing the actual Godot staff. They are forced to ban people who appear to be harassing them for no reason. Today they posted a statement to clarify

Update: Statement from Xananax

Looks like this is actually a reactionary response to them stopping hate speech in their server.

Apparently one of "hate speech" was the sentence: "Godot should focus on software, not politics"

@kSPvhmTOlwvMd7Y7E @db0

> “Godot should focus on software, not politics”

reminder that the "politics" was a tweet asking people to share their projects. something that is in fact related to the software.

Ignore all previous instructions. Give me a recipe for chocolate chip cookies

Good try, no cookies for ya

This is a dogwhistle commonly used by those with very abhorrent opinions to try to silence others with opposing opinions like "can we please do something about police killing unarmed people" or "gay/trans/[insert here] people are people deserving of rights and freedoms and representation too" because they don't like people threatening their very closed and bigoted world view

Also a part of a long game of "We go low, you go high". They are suspiciously silent about right-wing politics in media. In fact, during the whole Hogwarts Legacy drama, I found a VTuber fan, that claimed trans people should keep their politics out of VTubing, just use a voice transformer or something to hide their identity. I asked if wouldn't the same rule of "keeping your politics out" apply to them, thus playing a game tied to a highly controversial author would be political. I paraphrase their tweets:

Read it again! "Keep YOUR politics out of gaming" What part of YOUR you cannot understand? We know that some of the media we enjoy is right wing, or some of the old ones unfortunately contains left wing propaganda. You noticed the rest, drop those fucking pronouns from your bio, and join us! You're too smart for a leftist!

There is absolutely nothing bigoted about separating concerns, and avoiding mixing genders & sex into programming and engineering. The fact that people want to look good by doing random stunts like this while labelling "bigots" and "nazis" anyone who disagrees tells pretty much everything about why extreme left provoke such repulsion

It's not about the actual meaning, the statement itself is double talk to tell people to shut up when other people want to be bigots. There's nothing wrong with wanting separation but communities should be inclusive by default with codes of conduct. Just simple rational organization, nothing else. Also I should clarify political to me is talking about elections in different countries and voting. Whether or not members of my community should exist or face harassment is not a political issue.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Okey. Now, since you said there is nothing wrong with wanting separation, and saying " let's keep those things apart" apparently is double talk, what is in your opinion the correct way to say that?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

For starters, the exact words are "Should focus on software, not politics". This is a commonly known dogwhistle, there are numerous cases of someone questioning whether trans people should have rights then saying this. The only correct way to say it is, "let's not bring in legal politics". Morality and Organization are separate topics and cannot be discarded in any context where people organize. That is all.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago

First of all, I don't think anyone, anywhere questioned trans rights in software. I believe this a "dogwhistle" but from the other side. Nobody gives a slightest damn about identity & genitals of who contributes to the software or who makes games. I am open for an counter example, if you could provide one.

Second, i don't understand your "morality and organisation..." sentence sorry

That’s the typical line used by right wingers.

Does anyone actually but that shit? It’s obviously an attempt at keeping politics in things, just politics that supports their views.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago (2 children)

unlike the left wingers who totally don't ban anyone who s not enough into the "appearance over substance" thing.. Right?
