Have they said they're never going to use the engine again?

I forget where I read it but yes, future cyberpunk and Witcher titles will be built on unreal engine.

They're not going to keep maintaining the engine if none of their future titles are using it, the engineering cost alone would be very high for no benefit.

That kind of sucks. Baring all the initial problems with the game I felt like it ended up in a pretty good place. I'm sure Unreal will be fine too. I don't know much about game engines really.

In theory it'll allow them to get the games out faster, or at the very least, get more done in the same time.
