A long time coming.

If you've been looking for a reason to upgrade your AirPods, Apple hasn't really given you any for a while.

Thankfully, Apple could finally be gearing up to introduce new models to its earbud lineup.

The reason is likely that they were the first successful TWS headphones.

"Successful" after Apple took away the 3.5mm jack for no reason and said "fuck you you have to buy them now," maybe. Runners were using TWS earbuds for a decade+ before Apple soft-locked users into needing to buy their proprietary product.
